- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Believe it or not, but the end of the first quarter is next Monday. So be sure to check StudentVue and talk to your teachers about any missing assignments or make-up work. Again, 1st Quarter grades close next Monday.
. - And speaking of the end-of-the quarter, it’s nearly time for the 1st quarter Wolf Paw Drawing!! That’s right — the 1st Quarter Wolf Paw Drawing is this FRIDAY. But to be eligible for a prize, you MUST submit your Wolf Paws to your grade-level box by this WEDNESDAY. Prizes are now on display outside of the library. There’s some great stuff in there, so go take a look! Once again, please submit your Wolf Paws by this WEDNESDAY. And good luck!!
. - Calling all MUNNERS!! The WMS Model UN Club is meeting TODAY during ASP I in room C105. Participants will discuss position papers, parliamentary procedures, and the upcoming conference in November. See Mr. McDermott with any questions.
. - And now for an important announcement from the school library. TA teachers will be handing out overdue notices to students this week. If you have an overdue library book, please return it to the library or to the cart outside the cafeteria. See Ms. Tan or Ms. Scott with any questions.
. - If you’ve got any old crayons lying around at home — don’t throw them away. Put them in a box, and bring them to school! WMS is working with the Crayon Initiative — an organization that recycles old crayons, then makes NEW ones for kids in the hospital. We’ve already collected nearly 8-THOUSAND crayons, so let’s see how many more we can get by this Friday. Just drop them off in room 106. See Mr. Thompson with any questions. And thanks for supporting the Crayon Initiative!
. - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And to show our support, WMS is raising money with a “Pie the Teacher” contest! To participate, just make a donation to the teacher of your choice during your grade-level lunch. And whichever teacher raises the most money will get PIED at the end of the week. So let’s come together as a community, have some fun, and support Breast Cancer Awareness. Thanks for your help, wolves!!
. - Calling all basketball fans! The WMS boys basketball season tips off TODAY against rival Swanson Middle School at 3:30pm in the main gym. Students and staff are invited to pack the stands, and root our team to victory!
.
And be sure to bring your appetite, because the WMS Check-in program will be selling popcorn and snacks outside of the gym during all home games. But it’s CASH ONLY — no credit cards nor apple pay. Once again, come to the boys basketball home opener, and buy some treats during the game.
.
It’s Red Ribbon Week here at WMS — the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. Thanks to everyone who wore their favorite sports jersey for today’s theme: teaming up against drugs!!
.
And here are the themes for the rest of the week: Wednesday is “Give Drugs the Boot Day” — so wear your favorite boots. Thursday is “Pink Out Day” — so wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. And finally, Friday is “Superhero Halloween Day” — so dress up as your favorite superhero, or any other costume you’d like.
.
And one more thing: when you go to lunch today, be sure to visit the Red Ribbon Week table. It’s full of additional information, AND you can get your own RED RIBBON to wear. Thanks for supporting Red Ribbon Week, and for pledging to stay drug free!!
