- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. And don’t forget, all students should go back to your TA for Wolf Time. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Stokes-Beverley and Ms. Hwang! This is another reminder that EVERYONE needs to update your iPad to the latest operating system — iOS 18.5. Just check the “settings” on your iPad to see what version you’re running — and update to iOS 18.5, if necessary. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — BOTH STUDENTS must bring a note from home to the main office. You will receive a one time “bus buddy pass” to give your bus driver. But make sure to get your pass BEFORE your grade-level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a buddy pass — because there won’t be time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Shorter in the office with any questions.
. - Calling all athletes! The fall sports season is here. Tryouts for Co-ed Tennis and Boys Soccer are already underway. See Mr. Treble with any questions about Boys Soccer, or email Coach Chris or see Ms. Hogwood with questions about co-ed tennis.
. - 2-4-6-8, who do we appreciate? CHEERLEADERS!! The WMS Co-ed Cheer Squad is hosting an informational meeting TODAY after school in the cafeteria. All interested students are encouraged to come by, meet the coach, and learn about the team. But PLEASE scan the Cheer QR code outside of the Activities Office if you plan to attend.
. - Girls Ultimate is scheduled to begin next MONDAY. But there are NO TRYOUTS! Girls from all grades and of all experience levels are welcome to play. See Mr. Smolinski with any questions.
. - And don’t forget that to participate in ANY of these sports — Co-ed Tennis, Boys Soccer, Girls Ultimate, or Co-ed Cheer — you MUST scan the QR codes on the the bulletin board outside of the cafeteria. You ALSO need to have a current physical on file. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Contact our Activities Coordinator, Ms. Hogwood, for more information about QR codes, physicals, or with any other questions about school sports.
. - Attention all fans of high school sports!! Throughout the year, Yorktown High School will be hosting numerous games and tournaments after school. But unless you’re a member of the team, you MUST be escorted by a parent or responsible adult. Otherwise, you will NOT be allowed inside. This policy goes for all APS schools. Once again, you must have an adult present to attend high school sports.
