  • Today we will be following the BLUE DAY schedule.  That means TA is extended until 8:25, and then you’ll proceed to periods 1 through 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class.  Again, this is a BLUE day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • Any student who was requested for the Blue Day should report to that teacher’s classroom IMMEDIATELY. Please do NOT wait until the end of the announcements.  Go NOW!  Teachers, please double-check your Blue Day list and make sure those students are on their way.

  • Calling all 8th graders! The end-of-the-year field trip to Kings Dominion is just a few months away — but we need to start getting ready RIGHT NOW!! Permission slips and payment are DUE this FRIDAY.  If you don’t turn them in, then you WON’T get to go.  Please bring them to Ms. Willet or Mr. Treble.  See your World Geo teacher with any other questions, or to get a new permission slip. Don’t miss out on the fun, 8th graders!!

  • Attention Anime-niacs! The Anime Club is meeting TODAY in room 109 during ASP 1 for a special event:  “The Most Fashionable Character” Competition!!  Also, be sure to save the date for next week’s meeting — when visiting artists from the New York School of Arts will be leading you in an special workshop. It will be anime-zing! Contact Ms. Armistead with any questions.

  • And now for a “wellness tip” from our school clinic!  It’s cold, flu, and covid season again — so here are three simple strategies for keeping our shared environment HEALTHY and SAFE!  First — WASH YOUR HANDS!!  Second — Fully cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.  And third — if you’re not feeling well, please STAY HOME.  Together, we can stop these germs and viruses BEFORE they spread.  See our school nurse with any questions.

  • ASFF application, 2025Calling all film-makers, journalists, and video-jockeys! The 13th annual Arlington Student FilmFest is now accepting entries for its 2025 competition. The application deadline is this SATURDAY, and the Film Festival is scheduled for April 30th at Wakefield High School. To participate, just scan the QR code located in the Morning Announcements Blog, or contact Mr. Schonfeld and he’ll walk you through the application process.  Now go make some movie magic!

  • March Madness - Elite 8, 2025Ready, set, READ!! The 9th annual March Madness Tournament of Books is going strong! This year’s contenders are a mix of the most checked-out books from the library AND recommendations from the TAB Club.

    Hundreds of students cast their vote in the Sweet-16 last week.  And now, we’ve made it to the Elite-8.  Here’s how to participate:  Just go to the WMS Library Canvas Course and cast your vote.  We’ll announce the results next week.  And remember:  the TA in each grade with the best bracket will win a prize — so make your vote count!  The March Madness Tournament of Books — may the best book win!!
