  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • Attention all 6th graders on the Exploratory Wheel! Starting today, you will be rotating to your new elective class.  Your TA teacher can tell you where to go, and staff members will be stationed throughout the halls this afternoon to help you find your way.  But please do your best to be ON TIME.  Once again, 6th graders on the Wheel begin their new classes TODAY.

  • And here’s another important announcement for 6th graders — if you are applying to be a 6th grade Student Ambassador, your application must be completed and returned TODAY.  Once again, to be considered for the 6th grade Student Ambassador position, you must submit your application TODAY.  See Ms. Russo with any questions.

  • And now for a “wellness tip” from our school clinic!  It’s cold, flu, and covid season again — so here are three simple strategies for keeping our shared environment HEALTHY and SAFE!  First — WASH YOUR HANDS!!  Second — Fully cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.  And third — if you’re not feeling well, please STAY HOME.  Together, we can stop these germs and viruses BEFORE they spread.  See our school nurse with any questions.

  • And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Stokes-Beverley and Ms. Hwang!  Your school-issued iPad is critical to your instruction here at WMS. Please remember that you are expected to bring it to school EVERY DAY and FULLY CHARGED.  And if there’s anything wrong with it, please tell your TA teacher so they can notify technology support. They’ll have you back online in no time!!

  • ASFF, 2025Calling all film-makers, journalists, and video-jockeys! The 13th annual Arlington Student FilmFest is now accepting entries for its 2025 competition. The application deadline is March 29th, and the Film Festival is scheduled for April 30th at Wakefield High School. To participate, please contact Mr. Schonfeld and he’ll walk you through the application process.  Now go make some movie magic!

  • March Madness graphic, 2025Ready, set, READ!! The 9th annual March Madness Tournament of Books has officially begun!!  This year’s contenders are a mix of the most checked-out books from the library AND recommendations from the TAB Club.

    Here’s how to participate:  Just go to the WMS Library Canvas Course and cast your vote for the Sweet-16.  We’ll announce the results next week.  And remember:  the TA in each grade with the best overall bracket will win a prize — so make your vote count!  The March Madness Tournament of Books — may the best book win!!

  • NoVa Regional Science Fair, 2025And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The results of last month’s Northern Virginia Regional Science Fair are IN — and our student-scientists did an AMAZING job!
