- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - The Courtyard Keepers Club needs your help! Students and staff are asked to donate GALLON JUGS for a winter sowing project. Please make sure the jugs are EMPTY and CLEANED OUT. Bring them to room 111 by Winter Break and you get a Wolf Paw in return! See Ms. Zarro with any questions. And thanks for your help, wolves!!
. - And speaking of Courtyard Keepers, the next meeting is TODAY during ASP 1 in room 111. All are welcome to help keep our courtyard beautiful.
. - Calling all music lovers! The WMS Band will be performing its Winter Concert on TUESDAY at 7pm in the auditorium. That includes the Symphonic Band, the Concert Band, and the Cadet Band. It’s going to be an AMAZING show! Plus, there will be a bake sale following the performance provided by the WMS Jazz Band. Students and staff are encouraged to come, and support your friends and classmates. See Ms. Edwards with any questions.
. - Calling all athletes! If you plan on participating in wrestling or Boys Basketball this winter, you MUST submit your sports physical by this FRIDAY. Please place all forms in the yellow mailbox outside of the Activities Office. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
. - All the best books are on sale NOW!! The PTA Scholastic Book Fair is OPEN for business from now through WEDNESDAY in the WMS library. Students will be visiting the Fair with their English and Reading classes, but you may also go before TA, during lunch, and after school on most days. See our school librarians for more information. And thanks for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair!!
. - The holidays are just around the corner — and we’re celebrating with SPIRIT WEEK! Thanks to all the student and staff who dressed up for today’s theme: Candy Cane Day. You’ve got spirit, yes you do!!
.
And here’s the rundown for the rest of the week: Tuesday is Snowman Day — so wear hats, scarves and gloves. Wednesday is PJ Day — so wear your best jammies. Thursday is Holiday Bling Day — so wear your festive headgear or accessories. And Friday is Tacky Sweater Day — the uglier the better.
.
Get into the spirit for Spirit Week all week long. And thanks for being a part of the Wolf Pack Pride!!
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Congratulations to all of the students who were selected for this year’s APS Honors Band and APS Junior Honors Band. Our school had FIFTY students selected for this incredible honor, and we couldn’t be more proud.
.
Thanks to everyone who auditioned, and GOOD LUCK to our performers at your concert next year. Way to go, musical wolves!! [clap]
. - Wolf Pack Pride continues with Wolfbots Robotics — who competed over the weekend at the annual Fairfax / Arlington Scrimmage.
. - The 7th-grade teams finished in a tie for 3rd place, while the 8th-grade team won 2nd place AND received the Judges Award for the overall best team in teamwork, professionalism, and student-centered attitude. Way to go, robotics wolves!! [clap]
. - And finally —in addition to their regular classes, WMS students also participate in a series of Wolf Time classes throughout the year.
.
But not every student agrees that Wolf Time is the best use of THEIR time. Student reporters Mark, Keilani, and Frederick have the story.
.
Roll tape!!
