- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - I hope you’ve been on your best behavior lately, because Parent-Teacher Conferences are THIS WEEK — TODAY from 4:30 to 7:30pm; and TOMORROW from 8 to 11:30am. Conferences will be conducted “Arena Style” — so tell your families that no appointment is necessary. Just come on in and have a chat! Parents and teachers together — what could be better than that?!
. - Attention all PE students! Please bring your iPad to PE today for a special health presentation from your grade level counselor. Once again, all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders need to bring their iPads to PE today.
. - Bonjour!! The WMS French Club will be hosting its first meeting of the year TODAY during ASP 1 in Room 220. See Ms. McNeese with any questions. Merci Beaucoup!!
. - Today is your LAST CHANCE to donate empty cereal boxes, newspapers, old t-shirts, and coffee filters for the Family and Consumer Science sustainability project. Please bring your donation to room 128 by the end of the day, and the FACS teacher — Ms. McFarren — will reward you with a WOLF PAW! This offer is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Thanks for your support, Wolves!!
. - Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera! SCHOOL PICTURE DAY is NEXT WEEK — scheduled for October 15th and 16th in the gym during all PE classes. Picture packages can be ordered in advance — ONLINE — by going to the WMS website. See Dr. Koval with any questions. And say cheese!!
. - Calling all athletes!! The Fall sports season keeps rolling along — with girls basketball and boys soccer scheduled to begin soon. But to participate, you MUST do TWO THINGS: first, complete the QR code for your sport. And second, you must submit your SPORTS PHYSICAL FORM — Girls Basketball and Boys Soccer are due by October 18th. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
. - We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit, how about YOU?!? Next week, our WMS community is raising awareness about TWO important causes. First up: Tuesday is Pink Out Day — and everyone is asked to wear the color PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
.
And then on Wednesday, it’s Unity Day — and everyone is asked to wear the color ORANGE in support of Bullying Prevention Month. So don’t forget — Tuesday is PINK, and Wednesday is ORANGE. And thanks for being a part of the Wolf Pack Pride, Williamsburg!!
. - October is National Bullying Prevention and Awareness Month. The purpose is to educate our community about this important issue — and to teach effective strategies in response to bullying.
.
Today’s bullying prevention topic is “Challenge Others to be Kind.” It can be hard to make new friends. And sometimes, school and life can feel downright lonely. When kids are isolated, they often become more vulnerable to bullying.
.
But we can make a difference — just by being KIND. Today, challenge yourself to make friends with someone new. Just say “Hello!” Ask how they’re doing! Be a LEADER. A few kind words can make all the difference to someone in need.
.
If you, or someone you know, is struggling with bullying, please be an UPSTANDER — not a BYSTANDER. Tell your teacher, a counselor, an administrator, or another trusted adult. Together, we can stand up to bullies!
