- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Calling all students! Every Wolf Pack needs a LEADER — and that leader could be YOU! The Williamsburg Student Council Association will be hosting an informational meeting TODAY after school in room 107. All students interested in joining the SCA are encouraged to attend. See Ms. Dittimus with any questions.
. - 2 – 4 – 6 – 8 — who do we appreciate??? CHEERLEADERS!!! The WMS Cheer team is holding an informational meeting on WEDNESDAY at 2:45 in the main gym. Interested cheerleaders — both girls AND boys — should contact Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
. - Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Accepting Imperfections.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. The deadline to submit is Friday, November 22nd. Go to wmspta.org for more information, and to submit your projects online. Unleash your inner artist and submit to the PTA Reflections Contest today!!
. - Could your parents survive a day in Middle School? We’ll soon find out! This WEDNESDAY is BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT at WMS, from 5:50 to 8pm. Parents will essentially be “walking in your shoes” — as they follow your daily schedule, meet your teachers, and tour the school. So go home and tell your folks: come to Back to School Night this Wednesday — and be a Part of the Wolf Pack Pride!
. - This is National Suicide Prevention Week. And today, we’d like to tell you how EVERYONE can play a role in suicide prevention.
.
First and foremost: we need to talk about it. It’s important to spread awareness about the challenges that so many in our community are facing. And if we see someone that might need help, check up on them. And let them know that you care.
.
And if you feel yourself struggling, please know that your feelings are valid — and it’s okay to share them. Talk to someone you trust — a friend, a teacher, a counselor, a family member, or another trusted adult. You can also call the suicide prevention hotline at 988.
.
And remember, this THURSDAY, we’re asking everyone in our community to wear the colors YELLOW or GOLD to show their support for National Suicide Prevention Day.
.
This simple but powerful gesture will help raise awareness and demonstrate our school’s commitment to mental health and well-being. Thanks for your support, Wolves!!
. - And finally — today is Constitution Day! It’s celebrated each year on September 17th, which is the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787.
.
In honor of Constitution Day, we’re happy to bring you this THROWBACK video — courtesy of School House Rock!!
