- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Calling all athletes!! If you want to participate in Boys Ultimate, Boys Basketball, or Girls Soccer this year, you MUST have a physical on file! Physicals for Boys Ultimate are due TODAY; while physicals for Boys Basketball and Girls Soccer are due on Thursday, October 12th. You ONLY need to submit ONE physical for the entire year — so if you’ve already submitted one, you’re good! And don’t forget to scan the QR code outside of Ms. Hogwood’s office to register!
. - Did you go somewhere cool this summer? Have any adventurous summer photos? Then the WMS Yearbook wants to talk to YOU!! Just send an email to Ms. Briones at elizabeth.briones@apsva.us and describe your picture. It just might be featured in the Summer Vacations page of this year’s Yearbook. Contact Ms. Briones with any questions.
. - What are you doing after school this year?! After school activities and late buses will officially begin next Monday, October 2nd! Remember to check the whiteboard outside the cafeteria for the daily options.
. - Calling all anime-lovers! Williamsburg is launching a brand new club this year — the Anime Club — for everyone who enjoys drawing, watching, playing, and talking about ANIME! Meetings will be held every Wednesday starting next week during ASP 1. All are welcome!! See Ms. Hogwood for more information.
. - Williamsburg is making an open call to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to apply for our Debate Team, and also our Student Council! The Debate Team is perfect for anyone who like to argue; while the Student Council helps to plan all of the amazing school-wide events throughout the year. For more information, see Ms. Hogwood at lunch.
. - It’s cold and flu season again – and Covid has been surging lately – so we just want to remind EVERYONE about the importance of washing your hands, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and staying home when you’re feeling unwell. It’s up to all of us to keep our shared environment HEALTHY and SAFE! See our school nurse with any questions.
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The girls Ultimate team traveled to TJ on Wednesday and SPLIT a pair of hard-fought games. The 7th and 8th graders dominated, taking the match by a score of 10 to 5. Props to 8th grader Ada and 7th graders Viviene and Erin for their incredible teamwork.
.
Meanwhile, our 6th grade team lost a heartbreaker to TJ’s much taller and much more experienced 7th grade team — 5 to 3. WMS was down 4 to nothing early, but came storming back with a 3-point run that almost caught them. Incredible defense from Claire, Caroline, and Alina kept us in the game, and the whole team proved that they can play against anybody. Way to go, Ultimate wolves!! [clap]
. - Wolf Pack Pride continues with the WMS Tennis team, who had back to back match days this week. After a rough outing versus Dorothy Hamm on Wednesday, the Wolves rallied and swept Kenmore on Thursday, 5 to zero. They also won all three exhibition matches.
.
Big props to the Doubles players for their dominant performance — with all three pairs winning in straight games. Way to go, tennis wolves!! [clap]
