Teacher Workstation Setup

For PC computers

  • You must be at an APS school when you first log into your laptop. Select “Local or Domain Account” in the lower left corner and log into your workstation.
  • You will need to activate Microsoft Office. To do this:
    • Open Microsoft Word -> Click “Sign in with Active Account” and use your APS username and password.
    • Then open and configure Microsoft Outlook client (located on the desktop). Do NOT open Outlook first.
      • Make sure to add your signature again -> File -> Options -> Mail -> Signatures.

  • Please read through this (2017-18 APS Win10 Changes for Teachers) for changes to your Windows 10 laptop (including how to make yourself an administrator of your PC).
  • If AirServer was previously installed on your laptop, it will eventually reinstall back onto your laptop. Once it reinstalls, you will need to go into the AirServer settings to rename it with your last name (it will default to the computer’s name).

For Mac computers

  • Complete the initial setup and configuration for your teacher MacBook. 2019 Staff MAC Enrollment Instructions
  • You will need to activate Microsoft Office. To do this:
    • Open Microsoft Word -> Click “Sign in” and use your APS username and password.
    • Then open and configure the Outlook client or the Mail client (located on dock).
      • Make sure to add your signature again.
        • For Outlook -> Outlook (top menu bar) -> Preferences -> Signatures.
        • For Mail -> Mail (top menu bar) -> Signatures

  • Install networked printers
    • Click on the H drive icon (located on the dock) -> select “Install Printers”. If this doesn’t work, please submit a 2847 ticket. Make sure to state the name of the printer you would like to install.
