WMS PTA Scholarship

Each year, the WMS PTA awards a $1,000 scholarship to a former WMS student. This year’s recipient is Zara.

Zara’s bio:

Zara is a rising college freshman who is passionate about leadership, service, and uplifting her community.

She is a Posse Scholar Semifinalist and a Jackie Robinson Scholar Quarterfinalist.

During her time at Washington Liberty High School, she was an AP& IB Student, served as the two-time President of her school’s Black Student Union and was involved in organizations including the National Honor Society and Aspire Afterschool Learning.

In the fall, she will be studying International Affairs and Economics at Howard University to create meaningful change both locally and globally.

She is honored to celebrate this milestone as a WMS alumna with the graduating class and their families!
