Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s largest and longest running drug-use prevention campaign according to the organization’s “about us” page.

Created in response to the murder of DEA agent Kiki Camarena by drug traffickers, this is a week to learn more about the destructive effects of drugs, including prescription drug misuse, to individuals and communities.

WMS has planned a week of events (October 21 – 25) to heighten awareness along the theme of Life is a Movie. Film Drug Free. The RedRibbonWeekFlyer2024 contains information about our daily themes/spirit days as we focus on healthy habits and choices and pledging to be drug free.

Red Ribbon Week Themed Spirit Days:

  • Monday – “Red-Y to be Healthy” – Wear RED to kick off Red Ribbon Week
  • Tuesday – “We Treasure a Drug-free Life” – Wear your favorite fun bling
  • Wednesday – “Team Up Against Drugs” – Wear your favorite team jersey
  • Thursday – “We have Wolf Pack Pride” – Wear colors to show your WMS Pride (Blue and White)
  • Friday – “Lei off Drugs” – Wear a lei and/or your favorite Hawaiian-themed clothing.
