- Back to School Night was a “Howling” success yesterday, as hundreds of WMS parents toured the school, met your teachers, and got a taste of what WE all go through every day. A special thank you to all our teachers and staff who worked so hard last night to prepare and present for the event, and for all the volunteer students who performed the “Evening Announcements” and acted as tour guides throughout the school. Next up, parent-teacher conferences in October!
- Move over Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump — because WMS has its own election coming up! 8th graders are invited to run for the 2016-2017 SCA. There will be an informational meeting for potential candidates on THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 205. Come learn about the campaign process and the responsibilities of the various offices. See Mr. Peacock with any questions.
- WMS Girls Ultimate Frisbee is gearing up for its first game against Kenmore in two weeks. Until then — it’s time to practice! The team is still accepting new players, so interested athletes should meet for practice this THURSDAY and next MONDAY on the playing field. See Mr. Smolinski with any questions.
- We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit, how about YOU! Grab your pom-poms, because tryouts are about to begin for the WMS Cheerleading squad. 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls AND boys are encouraged to come out — next TUESDAY – September 27th, during ASP 1. Just sign up on the Activity Board by the cafeteria and make sure you have a physical on file. Please see Ms. Sutphin with any questions.
- The WMS Yearbook is putting together its spread for the new year — and the only thing missing is YOU!! First up: what did you do this summer? Submit a photo to the “Summer Vacations” page and be the ENVY of all your friends.
- But that’s not all — you could also be featured in the “Now and Then” page! Send in a fun picture of yourself and your friends when you were itty-bitty kids — and see how much we’ve all changed. So whether it’s “Summer Vacations” or “Now and Then” — submit your pictures to Ms. Briones today! Her email can be found on the WMS website.
