  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule.  That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class.  Again, this is a B-Day.  See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera!  PICTURE DAY is scheduled for this FRIDAY, September 13th, and the following MONDAY, September 16th during PE. Students with PE on B-DAYS will go on the 13th; students with PE on A-DAYS will go on the 16th; and students with PE during 5th period will ALSO go on the 13th.  Picture packages can be ordered ONLINE through the WMS website, or you may use the paper order forms being distributed next week. See Ms. Wielechowski in the main office with any questions. Say cheese!!
    .
  • What are YOU doing after school this year? Williamsburg Middle School offers DOZENS of after-school activities for students — ranging from sports to clubs to academic classes. Whatever you’re into, you’re gonna find it here! So stop by the WMS Activities Fair — scheduled for next MONDAY, September 16th for 6th graders ONLY; and TUESDAY, September 17th for 7th and 8th graders — both starting at 2:30 in the cafeteria.  Meet with coaches, club sponsors, teachers, and participating students — and find the activity for you! Late buses will be provided for students with a valid pass.
    .
  • Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits.  See your grade-level counselor for more information — and be sure to register by October 4th.
    .
  • The Wolf Pack is gearing-for a big year in sports!  Tryouts are set to run this week for both girls SOCCER and co-ed TENNIS.  Soccer players in the 6th grade should meet Coach Girard TODAY at 2:45 by the main entrance to the soccer fields; soccer for 7th and 8th grade girls will be Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.  And ALL tennis players should meet Coach Seeger TODAY, Tuesday, and Thursday at the bus loop right after school for instructions on getting to the Yorktown tennis courts.  Be sure to bring all of your equipment and gear — and get ready to PLAY!
    .
  • And a reminder for EVERYONE trying out — You MUST have a current physical on file to participate in after-school athletics. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE. For more information about getting a physical, see your coach, the school nurse, or the Activities coordinator — Ms. Hogwood.
    .
  • Boys Ultimate Frisbee is also getting ready to “throw down.”  Practices begin TODAY right after school in the main gym. And games against other APS schools will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Boys of all skill-levels and experience are welcome to join, and no physical is required. See Mr. Smolinski with any questions.  And for all you female athletes, the girls Frisbee season will start in OCTOBER.
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the LATE bus. If you’re ever planning to take the LATE BUS after school — you MUST have a signed bus pass for both ASP1 and 2. If you do not have a pass — you will NOT be allowed to ride the late bus. Again — the pass must be SIGNED for both ASP1 and 2 in order to ride the Late Bus. See your grade-level administrator with any questions.
