  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule.  That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class.  Again, this is an A-Day.  See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • The WMS Safety Assembly will be TODAY for all grade levels in the auditorium. 8th grade during 1st period at 8:15; 7th grade during 3rd period at 9:45; and 6th grade during 7th period at 1:05. Students are reminded to report to their classrooms FIRST to take attendance, and then your teacher will escort you to the program.  Please be sure to leave ALL of your belongings — including books, backpacks, and iPads — in your teacher’s classroom before the presentation. And please attend with courtesy and RESPECT for both staff and peers.

Whatever you’re into, you’re gonna find it here! So stop by the WMS Activities Fair — scheduled for MONDAY, September 16th for 6th graders ONLY; and TUESDAY, September 17th for 7th and 8th graders — both starting at 2:30 in the cafeteria.  Meet with coaches, club sponsors, teachers, and participating students — and find the activity for you! • The Wolf Pack is gearing-for a big year in sports!  First up — GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!!!  Girls soccer tryouts “kick off” next week — MONDAY for 6th grade, TUESDAY for seventh grade, and THURSDAY for 8th grade — all from 2:45 to 4pm at the main entrance to the soccer fields. Interested athletes are encouraged to sign-up on the call-board by the cafeteria.  Anyone unable to attend her grade-level tryout day MUST see Coach Girard in room C102 to schedule a make-up.

  • Serve, volley, overhead SMASH! The WMS Tennis Team is getting into the “swing” of a new season. Tryouts for boys AND girls begin next week — Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Yorktown tennis courts from 2:50 to 4pm. Interested athletes should meet at the bus loop each day after school, where you’ll receive instructions for getting to Yorktown. Be sure to bring your racket — and a can of balls if you have one. See Mr. Seeger with any questions.
    .
  • And a reminder for all competitive athletes — You MUST have a current physical on file to participate in after-school athletics. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE. For more information about getting a physical, see your coach, the school nurse, or the Activities coordinator — Ms. Hogwood.
    .
  • It’s that time of year again — pumpkin Lattes… and FRISBEE. That’s right, the Boys Ultimate Frisbee season is about to begin. The first practice is scheduled for next MONDAY, right after school in the main gym. And games against other APS schools will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Boys of all skill-levels and experience are welcome to join, and no physical is required. The Williamsburg Frisbee team has been competing for over a decade, and FIVE former players have gone on to the US National Team!  Come be a part of a great tradition. See Mr. Smolinski with any questions.  And for all you female athletes, the girls Frisbee season will start in October.
