- We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE! Last night was Back to School Night at WMS — and it was a HUGE success.
.
More than a THOUSAND parents visited the school, all of whom were treated to incredible presentations by your classroom teachers.
.
Special thanks goes out to all of those teachers who worked so hard on making your parents feel welcome; to our student volunteers — the tour guides, Yearbook staff, and WOLF-TV reporters — for their important contributions; to our admin, counselors, office staff, and librarians for their support; and of course, to our custodial staff for making our school shine.
.
Great job, everyone, and GO WOLVES!! [clap]
. - There will be a “make-up day” for the 2018 Naviance Needs Assessment Survey — TODAY during WOLF TIME in the auditorium. Any student who was absent when your TA took the survey — or if you had technology problems and couldn’t log in — are required to attend. Just be sure to bring you iPad! See Mr. Caldwell or your grade-level counselor with any questions.
. - Hey, Williamsburg! Are you tired of hearing: “There are no intramurals for today!”? Well it ends NOW! Intramurals at WMS begin next MONDAY during ASP 2. Again, intramurals are during ASP TWO — every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in the main gym. Come have fun and meet new friends while waiting for the late bus. Any questions? See Mrs. Stankus or Ms. Richards. Let’s play!
. - Calling all WOLFBOTS!!! All returning team members are REQUIRED to be at the first official work session of the year – next TUESDAY, Sept 25th, after school. Coach Dude, says see you there!!
. - The WMS Kindness Club will have its first meeting of the year on TUESDAY during ASP 1 in room 201. Participants will brainstorm “acts of kindness” for the school and community for throughout the year. Students who signed-up at the activity fair should be receiving a personal invitation — but of course ALL ARE WELCOME — even if you didn’t. Any questions? See Ms. Zeller, Ms. Schaefer or Mr. Johnson for more information.
. - Love the Earth? Interested in doing things to help the planet? Then join the WMS Eco-Action Green Club! The first meeting is scheduled for next week, THURSDAY, September 27th, in room 111. See Ms. Zarro or Ms. Thomas with any questions.
. - Hey 8th graders! The year may have just started, but it’s already time to think about HIGH SCHOOL! Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year. If you’d like more information about this incredible academic opportunity, see Mr. Caldwell in the main office or go the TJ admissions website. But applications are due next FRIDAY at 4 pm — so don’t delay. Good luck!

. - Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Heroes Around Me.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 25th. Now go create something awesome!!
. - Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits. The test is scheduled for November 6th at Wakefield High School — but registration is open NOW. See your grade-level counselor or a HILT teacher for more information, or to sign-up.
