  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Back to School Night was a “Howling” success yesterday, as hundreds of WMS parents toured the school, met your teachers, and got a taste of what WE all go through every day.
    .
A special thank you to all of our teachers and staff who worked so hard last night to prepare and present for the event — and also to all the student-volunteers who acted as tour guides, took pictures, and delivered the “Evening Announcements.”  Way to go, wolves!! [clap]
    .
Next up, parent-teacher conferences in October!  More info on THAT will be coming soon.

  • The WMS Intramural Program begins next MONDAY during ASP 2 — and will continue throughout the year on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. All students are welcome to join in the fun, led by our AMAZING PE teachers: Ms. Szwed and Ms. Stankus. Get ready to PLAY!!
    .
  • And also starting next Monday — the WMS Library will be OPEN to students after school during both ASP 1 and ASP 2. Students are welcome to check out books, find a good read, do some homework, or talk quietly with friends. But please be advised that library rules still apply: no food, no gum, no phones. See your school librarians with any questions.
    .
  • Do you like to write? Are you carrying around a notebook of original songs, poems or stories? Do you get carried away with a 5-minute free-write? If so, Inked is for you! Inked is the WMS creative writing club, and it meets on Tuesdays during ASP I in room C101! Come check it out or see Ms. Martin for more information.
    .
  • And with the start of intramural season, the LATE BUS will now be available to students on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  It leaves promptly at 4:10, and you must have a pass from your ASP 2 activity to ride.  See Ms. Hogwood for more information.
    .
  • The next Tennis Team practice will be on MONDAY, right after school at the Yorktown tennis courts. This is your LAST PRACTICE before your FIRST MATCH on Tuesday, so come ready to play! See Coach Seeger with any questions.
    .
  • Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Look Within.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 28th. Unleash your inner artist and submit today!!
    .
  • Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits. See your grade-level counselor for more information — and be sure to register by October 4th.
    .
  • One last thing — TA teachers are still collecting money for student agendas, which were distributed back during the first week of school.  Students are asked to please send in 7-dollars — either cash or check, made out to Williamsburg Middle School.  See your TA teacher with any questions.
