• Today we will be following the B-Day schedule.  That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class.  Again, this is an B-Day.  See your TA teacher with any questions.

• Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera!  PICTURE DAY is HERE!!!  All students with PE today — that means B-Days plus 5th period — will be getting your portrait taken; while everybody else — with PE on A-Days — will get your portrait on MONDAY. Picture packages can be ordered ONLINE through the WMS website, or you may use the paper order forms you got in TA. See Ms. Wielechowski in the main office with any questions. Say cheese!!

• What are YOU doing after school this year? Williamsburg Middle School offers DOZENS of after-school activities for students — ranging from sports to clubs to academic classes. Whatever you’re into, you’re gonna find it here! So stop by the WMS Activities Fair — on MONDAY for 6th graders; and TUESDAY for 7th and 8th graders — both starting at 2:30 in the cafeteria.  Meet with coaches, club sponsors, teachers, and participating students — and find the activity for you! Late buses will be provided for students with a valid pass.

• Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits.  See your grade-level counselor for more information — and be sure to register by October 4th.

• And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Solomon! You absolutely, positively, MUST have a passcode for your iPad. This basic security measure ensures that all of your personal information remains safe and secure. Also, be sure to WRITE DOWN your passcode so you don’t forget it — and consider sharing it with your parents, too! Any other problems or concerns with your iPad? Just submit an online “Student Tech. Help Request” — and Ms. Solomon will have the solution!

• And finally today — Principal Boykin and the entire staff here at Williamsburg would like to introduce you to our theme for the 2019-2020 school year:  “BELIEVE IN.” They BELIEVE IN you to overcome any obstacle; BELIEVE IN you to meet any challenge; BELIEVE IN you to achieve your dreams.  All you need to do is:  BELIEVE IN yourself.

  Following the Morning Announcements, TA teachers will be screening a special video about the POWER of BELIEVING. Afterwards, students are invited to reflect on their own thoughts about the theme, and then work as a TA to produce a “BELIEVE BOARD” about what YOU believe.  Let’s see what you can create!
