  • Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera, everybody — because this FRIDAY is PICTURE DAY at WMS!! Student photographs will be taken during all PE classes, so be sure to bring your “picture order form” with you. Extras forms are located in the office, or you can download a form from the WMS website. See Ms. Argenal in the main office with any questions. Say cheese!!
    .
  • Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders!  If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits. The test is scheduled for November 6th at Wakefield High School — but registration is open NOW.  See your grade-level counselor or a HILT teacher for more information, or to sign-up.
    .
  • Calling all MUNners!  The Williamsburg Model UN Club is preparing for another big year of conferences and debates.  Returning members are invited to the first meeting — this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202.  There’s a lot to discuss and plan — so don’t miss it!  See Mrs. Carlson with any questions.
    .
  • The fall sports season at WMS is underway!  Here’s a rundown of our athletics schedule:  The Cheer Clinic wraps-up on THURSDAY after school from 2:45 to 4:15 in the Auxilliary gym.  Interested athletes — both girls AND boys — should wear athletic shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt, and participants with long hair should wear it pulled back in a high ponytail. The actual TRYOUTS for the Cheer Team will be held next Monday, September 17th. See Ms. Herb for more information.
    .
  • And now for an update on OUTDOOR sports.  Wet weather has wreaked havoc on the tryout schedule this week.  So here’s how it looks moving forward:  Tennis team tryouts will attempt to get started this THURSDAY for 7th and 8th graders, while 6th graders will now tryout on MONDAY.  Interested female and male athletes should meet at the bus loop after school, where the team bus will transport you to the Yorktown tennis courts. Be sure to bring your racket — and a can of balls if you have one. And if anyone is UNABLE to attend your scheduled tryout day — please contact the coach, Mr. Seeger, about rescheduling.
    .
  • GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!! Boys Soccer is ALSO hoping to kick-it into gear this week.  Tryouts are scheduled for THURSDAY on the turf fields from 2:30 to 4.  Come dressed and ready to play! See Mr. Witte with any questions.
    .
  • But once again, there is RAIN in the forecast, so athletes are encouraged to contact your coach for more information, and listen for any announcements about cancellations or rescheduling at the end of the day.
