- SOL testing moves into “retake” mode today. 6th, 7th and 8th graders who need to retake their Reading SOLs should report to the WMS Library immediately following TA. Test-takers are reminded that you may ONLY bring the following items: a pencil or pen, a book to read, and earbuds ONLY if you have an approved audio accommodation for the test. You may NOT bring: backpacks or cinch sacks; any electronic devices; nor any water or snacks. And of course, there is zero tolerance for CHEATING.
.
And for all those students who are NOT testing, we will be following a REGULAR bell schedule today. And as always, you are reminded to be quiet and respectful in the halls — especially as you’re passing the library. Teachers will be monitoring to ensure that there are no disruptions. Good luck on the SOLs, wolves!
. - And here’s an SOL “heads-up” for next week: starting MONDAY, students in all grades will be taking their Math Exams. Testing locations are now posted outside of the library and cafeteria. To locate your testing location, find your grade and/ or team, then look for your math level — for example: math 6, algebra, or math 8. Student names will be listed alphabetically within each math level section. Make sure you know your assigned location BEFORE your test date. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - The WMS “Wolfbots” will be holding tryouts for next year’s Robotics team on MONDAY during ASP 1 in room 129. The tryouts are REQUIRED for all rising 7th and 8th graders who wish to participate — both newbies and returning members alike. See Mr. Dudek with any questions. Good luck, Robo-wolves!!
. - One week from TONIGHT — we gonna get DOWN!! The annual 8th grade CASINO NIGHT is next FRIDAY — June 9th at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. There will be table games, prizes, dancing, selfies, delicious food, and of course hanging out with your best friends. Feel free to dress up — or dress down — but either way: follow the dress code. Casino Night at WMS — get in on the fun!! .
. - You know that library book you checked out way back in November? Maybe it’s under a pile of papers in your locker, stuck in a desk drawer, or crammed in the bottom of your book bag? Well, do your librarians a favor — and TURN IT IN ALREADY!! Whether you’ve had a book for one week or 6-months, ALL books are due TODAY — and may be returned to the carts located by the library or cafeteria. Students who still need their books to read during the SOLs may keep them until after the testing period — but not a day longer. See your school librarian with any questions — and BRING IN YOUR BOOKS!!
