  • It’s the LAST WEEK of school here at WMS — but there’s a LOT to do before you go.  Let’s begin with year-end celebrations!  The 8th grade has already hit-the-road for King’s Dominion, and the 6th grade Pool Party is scheduled for later this morning.
    .
But there’s a chance of thunderstorms in the forecast, so everybody say it with me:  Rain Rain, go away, come again another day!  Assuming the party goes off as planned, 6th graders will be walking to the Knights of Columbus pool following second period.  There will be a DJ and dancing, pizza and shaved ice, swimming, human foosball, raffle prizes, and more!
    .
Students should to bring a towel, plenty of sun screen, and of course — a BATHING SUIT. You may also want to bring a change of clothes for before and after the event. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
Then on Tuesday — we’ll do the whole thing again for the 7th grade!  And FYI — tomorrow’s weather looks GREAT, so I’ll see you at the pool, wolves!!
    .
  • An important technology note for all 6th and 7th graders — it’s time to get RECONFIGURED!  All student iPads need to be reconfigured TODAY.  Just go to the WMS homepage and click on the “iPad configuration” link for details and instructional videos on how to complete the procedure.  Need help?  Try asking a “computer savvy” classmate, or go to your TA teacher or Ms. Solomon.
    .
  • Locker clean-outs are underway! Students are reminded to RECYCLE as much as possible. Also, TAs are encouraged to collect any NEW or LIGHTLY USED school supplies — which can be donated to deserving students next year.
    .
  • Hey, you know that book you’re reading?  The one you checked-out from the WMS library a few months ago but never got around to returning?  Well, now’s your chance!  All library books are DUE, and must be returned to the library as soon as possible. So check your lockers, your backpacks, and under you bed at home — and BRING IN YOUR BOOKS!
    .
  • The WMS clinic is reminding all students to pick-up their medications by THURSDAY.  Parents can come in themselves, or write a note authorizing YOU to get the medicine.  Any medication NOT picked up by the last day of school will be discarded.  See the school nurse with any questions.
    .
  • For millions of kids all over the country — FIDGET SPINNERS are the newest “must have” school accessories.  Chances are, you even have one yourself!  But these little gizmos are causing a HUGE controversy.  Student-reporters Kiersten B., Nick S., and Matthew B. investigate the sensation behind the spinner.
