  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  It’s been a long, crazy, stressful month — but the SOLs are finally OVER!!
    .
That’s right — all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have successfully completed the Standards of Learning for this year.  Thank you to all of our students for your patience and hard-work throughout this LOOOOOONG process.
    .
And thanks as well to our teachers, staff, and especially our testing-coordinator, Ms. Cameron, for supervising and coordinating the testing activities over the past month.  It’s truly been a team effort — and we did it.  Way to go, wolves!! [clap]
    .
  • And now that the SOLs are complete — the WMS Library is once again OPEN during all grade-level lunches!  Although you can no longer check-out any books, students are still welcome browse the shelves and read in the library.
    .
  • Students are also reminded that all overdue library books MUST be returned AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!  There are still over 350 overdue books out there — and the library needs them back.  Teachers will be distributing overdue notices during TA this morning, and the library will be sending out emails to parents later this week.  So look in your backpack, your locker, and under your bed at home — and BRING IN YOUR BOOKS!
    .
  • Calling all student-athletes! If you played a school sport this year — you MUST return your team uniform AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Please bring them to Ms. Hogwood’s office, located across from the auditorium. Again, all team uniforms must be returned before the end-of-the-year.
    .
  • Let the games BEGIN!  Tomorrow is FIELD DAY at WMS for all 6th and 7th graders.  Your teachers and PTA have prepared a load of fun-and-games for your enjoyment — including a live DJ, raffles with great prizes, a dunk tank, a shaved ice truck, and plenty of food and drink.
    .
7th graders will take the field in the morning, and 6th graders get their turn in the afternoon.  Everyone is reminded to wear plenty of sun screen, and remember to wear your class t-shirt or WMS spirit wear.  Field Day at WMS — Get in on the fun!!
    .
  • Finally today — Dozens of kids here at WMS and MILLIONS of kids around the country are members of the Boy Scouts of America.  They’re learning lessons in leadership and survival — and student-reporters Zach L. and Christian H. say those lessons last a lifetime. Check it out!
