  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Theater Department performed its Spring Musical last week — Beauty and the Beast, Junior — and it was a ROUSING success. Hundreds of students, staff, families, and community members came out to see the three performances — and each one received a standing ovation.  Congratulations to all the cast and crew for a job well done.  Way to go, thespian wolves!! [clap]

  • Attention all students!!  Next week marks the beginning of SOL season here at WMS — and we need to start getting ready.  Students will be taking the SOLs on their iPads this year.  But in order for it to work, your iPad must be updated, undamaged, and FULLY CHARGED each day.  Starting NOW — please make sure you’re plugging-in your iPad every night, and let your TA teacher know IMMEDIATELY if your iPad is cracked or malfunctioning.  See Ms. Cameron or Ms. Solomon with any questions.
    .
  • Attention all TABBIES! There will be an EMERGENCY meeting for the TAB Club during all grade-level lunches in the library TODAY.  Participants will be brainstorming questions for tomorrow’s Skype session with author Stuart Gibbs. Once again, all TAB members should come to the library for lunch TODAY so you’ll be ready for Skype TOMORROW.  See Ms. Lord with any questions.
    .
  • Want to make some music? The WMS Symphony Club will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 and 2 in room C105. This “melodious” group is composed of band, orchestra, and chorus members — and it’s open to EVERYONE with a love of music. So check it out! See Ms. Tuttle with any questions.
    .
  • Hey, 8th graders!  If you’d like to join the Cheer or Dance Teams at Yorktown next year, then LISTEN UP!  The Yorktown Cheer Team will be hosting an informational session on TUESDAY during 8th grade lunch in the cafeteria.  Meet the coach and several of the YHS cheerleaders, ask questions, and find out everything you need to know for next year.
    .
PLUS, there will be another meeting for both Cheer AND Dance on THURSDAY at 7 p.m. in Patriot Hall at Yorktown High School.  Interested students and parents are encouraged to attend — as they discuss the new procedures for trying-out for the teams, as well as information about the training schedule for next summer and fall.  See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
    .
  • Sister Circle will be hosting its last meeting of the year on THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 233.  There will be the end-of-the-year celebration — so don’t be late!  See Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
