  • The SOLs roll-on here at WMS — but they’re a little different today. MAKE-UP testing will be conducted in the Library following Wolf Time this morning — at 8:30 a.m. The following tests are being administered:  Reading for all grades; 7th grade Civics & Economics; 8th grade World Geography; 8th grade Science; and Math 7.  TA teachers will be notifying students this morning if they are taking one of these exams.
    .
Test-takers are reminded that you may ONLY bring the following items: your fully-charged iPad, a pencil or pen, a book to read, and earbuds ONLY if you have an approved audio accommodation for the test. You may NOT bring: backpacks or cinch sacks; any other electronic devices such as phones, watches, game consoles and the like; nor any water or snacks. And of course, there is zero tolerance for CHEATING.
    .
The rest of the school will be following a REGULAR class schedule today. And for all those students who are NOT testing — please remember to be quiet and respectful when you’re passing by the Library. Teachers will be monitoring the hallways to ensure that there are no disruptions. Any other questions or concerns? Check with your teachers or grade level counselors. Good luck on your SOLs, wolves!
    .
  • The WMS Library will be CLOSED today during SOL testing hours. But it WILL be open after school. So be sure to stop by this afternoon and get yourself something good to read for after your SOL!

  • And 2019 VJAS Annual Research Symposiumnow it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  Student-scientists from across the state converged on Old Dominion University in Norfolk earlier this month for the 2019 VJAS Annual Research Symposium. Congratulations to 7th grader Mara G., and 8th graders Katherine S., William C., Phillip J., and Ben P. — each of whom presented their science fair projects at the event.
    .
They are did an AMAZING job — and big props to Ben P. who received an Honorable Mention for his project in the category of Plant Sciences. Way to go, science wolves!! [clap]

  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the LATE bus. If you’re ever planning to take the LATE BUS after school — you MUST have a signed bus pass for both ASP1 and 2. If you do not have a pass — you will NOT be allowed to ride the late bus. Again — the pass must be SIGNED for both ASP1 and 2 in order to ride the Late Bus. See your grade-level administrator with any questions.

  • And finally — last week, Ms. Schaefer from the Student Services Staff introduced us to a form of Relaxed Breathing that can help us to stress LESS.  So for today’s Mindful Moment, to help us get centered and focused as we begin our week, we invite everyone to take a moment, relax, and just… BREATHE.
