  • We’ve got some good news for you: there is NO SOL TESTING TODAY! The school will be running on a NORMAL schedule today, and the WMS Library will be OPEN to students during all grade-level lunches. But be sure to charge your iPads tonight, get plenty of rest, and eat a good breakfast tomorrow — as testing is set to resume. See Ms. Cameron or your grade-level counselor with any questions about the upcoming SOLs.

  • Interested in dance, music, and marching band? The Yorktown High School COLORGUARD is now recruiting current seventh and eighth graders for the 2019 season. There will be an OPEN HOUSE for interested students this THURSDAY from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Yorktown band hallway. Meet the coach, many of the participants, and everything you need to know to be a part of the team. No experience necessary — but the deadline to join is June 11th.

  • And now for a message from our school librarians — The end-of-the-year is fast approaching, and there are still HUNDREDS of overdue library books that need to be returned. So look in your bag, your locker, and in your room at home — and BRING IN YOUR LIBRARY BOOKS!
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
