  • The SOLs are here!!  All students in all grades will be taking the Reading SOL this morning.  The test is scheduled to run from 8 to 10:30am, and most students will be grouped with their English classes.  TA teachers have all of the room assignments, and can tell you where to go.
    .
And here’s some more information about the test: The ONLY materials you may have with you are your iPad, a pencil or pen, a water bottle, and a book.  NO OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES are allowed — no phones, smart watches, air pods, e-readers, nor anything else.  See your TA teacher, class counselor, or administrator with any other questions.  Good luck on the SOL, wolves!!
    .
  • Once the SOL period is over, we will be following a MODIFIED C-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1 through 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. And remember, there is NO Wolf Time today.  Again, this is a MODIFIED C-Day.  See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Hwang!  Since you’ll be using your iPad for the SOLs, it needs to be working!  If you are having any problems with your school-issued iPad — whether it’s password problems, not connecting to the internet, glitching apps, cracked screens, or ANYTHING else — please tell your TA teacher so they can notify technology support. They’ll have you back online in no time!!
    .
  • Calling all MUNNERS!! The Model UN Club will meet TODAY during ASP I in room C105.  Participants will continue their crisis simulation. Resolutions will be drawn up and voted on by delegates regarding World War 3. See Mr. McDermott with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all 7th and 8th graders! The Yorktown Colorguard is now recruiting new members for its upcoming Fall season. Colorguard combines music, dance, flag, and sabre spinning in a fast-paced and spirited performance. Interested students are encouraged to attend the Colorguard open house TODAY and TOMORROW from 6 to 9pm at the Yorktown main entrance.  See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
    .
  • Spirit Week, May 2024We’ve got spirit, yes we do, we’ve got spirit, how about YOU?! It’s SPIRIT WEEK here at WMS!  Thanks to all the students and staff who showed their school spirit and dressed up for today’s theme:  TWIN DAY!!
    .
And here’s the rundown for the rest of the week: Wednesday is Favorite Color Day; Thursday is Sports Day; and Friday is Class Colors Day — 6th grade blue, 7th grade white, and 8th grade black.
    .
Ms. Hogwood will be monitoring your participation — and the grade with the most school spirit all week long will be awarded an additional 500 points at the Pep Rally this Friday. So get into the school spirit for Spirit Week — and be a part of the Wolf Pack Pride!!
