  • Today we will be following the “anchor” C-Day schedule.  That means you’ll be attending periods 1 through 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. And remember, there is NO Wolf Time today.  Again, this is an “anchor” C-Day.  See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • We’ve got spirit, yes we do, we’ve got spirit, how about you??? Sign-ups for the 2022 WMS Pep Rally are now OPEN.  The link is posted in Canvas on the Student Info Page, and on the WMS website. But don’t delay! Sign-ups will close on Friday, May 20th — and you’ll find out if you’ve been selected on May 24th.  See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

  • The Yorktown High School Color Guard is recruiting new members for the upcoming 2022-2023 season!  Representatives from the team will be hosting a special SPIN clinic TODAY during 7th and 8th grade PE classes. And if you like what you see, they’re also hosting an open-house practice session at YHS on May 24th and 26th.

  • Interested in trying out for the Yorktown High School dance or cheer team? Then come to the informational meeting this THURSDAY at 3:10pm in the cafeteria. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

  • And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Solomon!  The SOLs are just around the corner, so your iPad needs to be working!  If you are having any problems with your school-issued iPad — whether it’s password problems, not connecting to the internet, glitching apps, cracked screens, or ANYTHING else — please submit the online “Student Tech Help Request” form through the WMS website.  Ms. Solomon’s got the solution to getting you back online!

  • Who’s ready for a fantastic show?!  The WMS theater department is proud to present: The Addams Family — our WMS Spring Musical!  Performances are scheduled for this Thursday and Friday at 7pm, with a matinee show on Saturday at 2:00pm.

    Tickets are just 2-dollars, and can be purchased in the auditorium lobby before the show.  There will also be baked goods available during intermission. So come on out, support your classmates, and enjoy the Addams Family Musical!!

  • ASFF, 2022Calling all film-makers, journalists, and video-jockeys! The 10th annual Arlington Student FilmFest kicks off this weekend at Washington and Liberty High School.  The festivities begin on FRIDAY from 4:30 – 8pm, where participants will plan, film, edit, and publish a film in just one night. Dinner and drinks will be provided — and ALL are welcome to participate.

    And then on Saturday, the Middle School film competition will take place from 11:30 to 1pm.  Entrance is FREE!  And videos from the best filmmakers in APS will be screened for your viewing pleasure.  Who will win Top Film???  Be there to find out!  Contact Mr. Schonfeld for more information.  And good luck, filmmakers!!

  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! 7th grader Myla M. and 8th graders Arhan M. and Kedar K. have all been selected to present their science projects at the Virginia Junior Academy of Science Virtual Symposium this weekend.  They’ll be going up against some of the best young scientists from all over the state.  We’re rooting for you, VJAS wolves!! [clap]

  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with the WMS Track and Field team — who placed SECOND at the County Championships yesterday with 169 points. Great job to the WMS girls who scored 145 of the points — topping all other girls teams.

    Special shout outs to the following County Champions: 7th graders Mila F. in the 70-meter dash, Mia D. in the 50-meter dash, Giselle D. in the 600-meter, and Ava L. in the 800-meter. Way to go, track wolves — and congrats on a great season! [clap]
