  • Spirit Week NEW -- 4/29-5/3We’ve got spirit, yes we do, we’ve got spirit, how about YOU!! It’s SPIRIT WEEK at WMS — brought to you by the Williamsburg SCA. Thanks to all the students and staff who showed their WOLF PACK PRIDE and dressed in the blue-and-white for Wolf Pride Day.
    .
And here’s the rundown for the rest of the week. Thursday is MOVIE DAY — paying tribute to our favorite stars on the big screen; and Friday is SPORTS DAY — so wear some gear from your favorite team. Get into the school spirit, wolves — and BE A PART OF THE PRIDE!!
    .
  • The Pennies for Patients fundraiser is now complete! And we’ve got some BIG results to announce.  For the past week, students and staff have been bidding on an assortment of AMAZING Raffle Baskets — and today, we’ve got your winners.  If your name is called, please pick up your prize today AFTER SCHOOL in the cafeteria.  Ready?  Here we go!
    • First up — The Movie Basket.  And the winner is:  Annie T. in Ms. Colihan’s TA!
    • Second — The Foodie Lover’s Basket.  Congratulations to Maite G. in Ms. Mentch’s TA!
    • Third — The Starbucks Basket. It’s going to Ms. Briones!  That’s right — teachers played, too!
    • Fourth — The Chipotle Lunch goes to Robert R. in Ms. McTavish’s TA!
    • Fifth — The Fun & Games Basket is going to Jamie B. in Ms. Woodbury’s TA!
    • Sixth — The Candy Lover’s Basket is all for Gavin S. in Ms. Gephardt’s TA!
    • And finally, seventh — the Chocolate Lover’s Basket.  The big winner is Irvin L. in Mr. Smolinski’s TA!
      .
Congrats to all our winners, and a sincere “thank you” to everyone who participated.  Your support goes a long way to helping the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society find a cure for blood cancer.  And remember, if you won a basket — you may collect it at Check-in after school.
      .
  • As for the results of the Pennies for Patients fundraiser itself, Ms. Kia and the kids at Check-in are in the process of counting up all those coins — and will have the results later this week.  TA teachers who have not yet returned their fundraising collection boxes are asked to please bring them to Check-in TODAY after school in the cafeteria.  Every penny counts!
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WMS Track Team hosted Gunston Middle School yesterday in its final regular season match of the year — and WE WON!!!  The wolves “ran away with it” — dominating the field by a score of 118 to 59.  With the victory, Williamsburg finishes the year UNDEFEATED at 4-and-0.  Way to go, running wolves!! [clap]
    .
Up next — the Track Team is gearing up for the 2-part Arlington County Meet, scheduled for tomorrow and next Tuesday at the Gunston track.  So let’s root them on to the CHAMPIONSHIP, and Be a Part of the Pride!!
    .
  • Sister Circle will be hosting its LAST meeting of the year — this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 201. Members and allies are encouraged to come out for a little Girl Talk — and a lot of fun activities! Plus, the meeting will feature an exciting Guest speaker — so don’t be late!  See Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • The WMS Book Club will be meeting TOMORROW during all grade level lunches in room 110.  Participants are reminded to bring your book — Dear Martin — and be prepared to discuss.  It’s also the final meeting of the year, so all books will be collected at the end of the session. See Ms. Edme or Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • And now an important announcement for all student-athletes who participated in Boys and Girls BASKETBALL, SOCCER, and CHEERLEADING this year. Now that your seasons are complete, it’s time to turn-in your uniforms! Please make sure they are CLEAN — and then bring them to Ms. Hogwood’s office as soon as possible.
