  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Swim Team will be competing in the Swimming Championship Meet — TODAY after school at the Washington and Lee Pool.  Our athletes will be going head-to-head against some of the best swimmers in Arlington — so let’s root them on to victory.  Go get ’em, swimming wolves!!
    .
  • The WMS Track Team also has a big match after school today, at home against Gunston.  This is their final tune-up race before the County Meet next week.  So head on out to the athletic fields, give a cheer, and be a part of the Pride.  You can do it, running wolves!!
    .
  • It’s time to PINK OUT!  The Yorktown Softball team and their coach, our very own Ms. Sutphin, will be hosting the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night during their game on FRIDAY at 6 p.m. against McLean High School.  There will be great food and prizes, and all money raised will go towards research and helping victims of cancer. This is a VERY important event — and they need YOUR HELP to make it count.  See you at the game!
    .
  • Calling all native-Spanish speakers! If you speak Spanish at home, then you could EASILY earn a special “Seal of Bi-literacy” on your high school diploma. Just sign-up for next year’s “Spanish for Fluent Speakers” class — and you’ll be on your way! Applications MUST be submitted by next TUESDAY. Just scan the QR code with your TA teacher, or see your grade-level counselor for more information. Buena suerte!!
    …….
  • Latinas Leading Tomorrow — otherwise knows as the L-L-T — will be meeting TODAY during ASP I in room 214. Members and allies are invited to join the discussion! See Ms. Pointer with any questions.
    .
  • Who’s hungry?! The Extended Day “Check-In” program will be hosting a pizza and bake sale on THURSDAY, right after school by the cafeteria and library. All proceeds will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society — which helps kids in the fight against cancer. So come on out and stuff your face for a good cause!
    .
  • The Check-In program is ALSO hosting its awesome “Raffle Basket” fundraiser this week.  The baskets are filled with all kinds of treats, gifts, and goodies — and you can try for whichever one you like most. Tickets are just 1-dollar, and will be on sale during all grade-level lunches and after school until next Tuesday. See Ms. Kia with any questions.

  • And now, please stay tuned for this important Public Service Announcement.
