  • We begin today with an important message from our school librarian — Ms. Lord — who joins us in the WOLF-TV studio this morning.  Good morning, Ms. Lord!
    .
  • LORD:  Good morning, everyone!  I’m here to announce an EMERGENCY MEETING for all TAB members in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades — TODAY during Wolf Time in the Library.  I’ve got some TIME SENSITIVE information for you that you WON’T want to miss.  Again, everyone in TAB should report to the library IMMEDIALELY following the morning announcements.  Thanks, and I’ll see you soon!
    .
  • Thanks for being here, Ms. Lord.  And one more “quick hit” from the library.  TA teachers will be passing out OVERDUE notices during TA this morning.  If you receive one, PLEASE look in your locker, you backpack, or even under your bed at home — and BRING BACK YOUR LIBRARY BOOKS!
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WMS 7th and 8th grade Chorus “sang their hearts out” at the District 12 Assessment this Spring — and the results were OUTSTANDING. Judges awarded the Treble Choir the top ratings possible — all SUPERIORS! While the Mixed Chorus scored superior and excellent ratings. Congratulations to all of our competitors for their hard wok and awesome accomplishments.  Way to go, musical wolves!! [clap]
    .
  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with the WMS Theater Department — which premiered its Spring Musical last night:  Alice in Wonderland, Jr!  The show was an absolute HIT — receiving a standing ovation from the hundreds in attendance.  Way to way, thespian wolves! [clap]  If you haven’t seen this production yet — be sure to catch the encore performances: TONIGHT at 7 p.m. and SATURDAY at 1:30.  Tickets are just 4-dollars for students — 6-dollars for adults — and 1-dollar for seniors. Come see your friends and classmates in the performance of the year — and be a part of the PRIDE!!
    .
  • “Every HERO needs a squad!!” The Pennies for Patients fundraiser is in full swing — sponsored by the WMS Check-In Program. This national campaign benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which is working to find a cure for blood cancer. Pennies for Patients will run for the next 3-weeks, with the goal of raising 5-THOUSAND dollars.
    .
And here’s a little extra motivation for you: whichever TA collects the most money will get a free pizza and ice cream party!! Plus, Check-In will be selling CANDY and CHIPS after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.  See Ms. Kia with any questions.  And remember — every penny counts!!
    .
  • Calling all students who participated in the Scholastic Art Competition.  The Scholastic Art show is now complete — and students asked to please pick up their art projects TODAY during Wolf Time or after school from Mr. Skrzypek’s room.
    .
  • Calling all film-makers, journalists, and video-jockeys! The Arlington Student FilmFest is now accepting entries for its 2019 competition. Just follow the link in today’s Morning Announcements Blog to submit your video and application by the deadline on April 9th. The Festival itself will take place on June 1st at H-B Woodlawn — where all of the finalists and award-winners will be screened.  See Mr. Schonfeld for more information.  Now go make some movie magic!

  • Today is your LAST CHANCE to vote for the WMS Tournament of Books — Championship Match! The two finalists are “Divergent” versus “The Hate U Give.” Make your picks using the QR codes by the main office, or follow the link in today’s Morning Announcements Blog.  Only ONE can be the CHAMPION — so place your vote TODAY!!

    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
