  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Track Team was “off to the races” on Tuesday — defeating Kenmore Middle School 91 to 80. It was a big TEAM WIN — with every athlete contributing their best effort.
    .
Special props to our 1st-place finishers — and there’s TEN of them:  Sha’Taja H., Finley T., Sophia S., Anna M., Shay M., Kira D., Erin K., Ross D, Jack D., and Mikhail B. Way to go, running wolves! [clap]
    .
  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with a long anticipated announcement:  the WMS School Store is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!  Up next, check out what’s “in store” at the school store!
  • “Every HERO needs a squad!!” We’re half-way through the Pennies for Patients fundraiser, and well on our way to raising 3,600-dollars for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society — and its fight against cancer.  Keep the donations coming — because whichever TA collects the most money will get a free pizza and ice cream party!!  See Ms. Kia at the Check-In Program with any questions — and support the Pennies for Patients fundraiser!
    .
  • The Check-In Program will ALSO be hosting a Pizza Sale — TODAY after school by the cafeteria. All money raised will be added to the Pennies for Patients fundraiser and its goal to cure cancer. It’s just 2-dollars a slice — so be sure to come by, grab some pizza pie, and support Pennies for Patients! .
    .
  • Surprise, Surprise — it’s WRONG to PLAGIARIZE!!  Way back in the beginning of the year, every student signed the WMS Honor Code — and pledged to maintain the highest levels of “academic integrity.”  Up next, 6th graders Kylie W., Mara G., and Rishima S. remind us how important it is to stay true to that pledge.
  • Did you know that this Sunday is Earth Day? Every year on April 22nd, people all around the world take time to appreciate our planet — Earth — and learn about how to keep the it clean and sustainable.
    .
This year, the WMS Earth Club is teaming up with Girl Scout troop 6595 to help raise awareness about indoor air quality. Their service project is to put plants in classrooms — a simple but effective way to help reduce air pollution. But they’re going to need YOUR HELP!  Stay tuned for more information next week.  And remember:  Go Green and Breathe Clean!
    .
  • Calling all native-Spanish speakers! If you speak Spanish at home, then you could EASILY earn a special “Seal of Bi-literacy” on your high school diploma. Just sign-up for next year’s “Spanish for Fluent Speakers” class — and you’ll be on your way! Applications MUST be submitted by next Wednesday — so don’t wait. Just scan the QR code with your TA teacher, or see your grade-level counselor for more information. Buena suerte!!
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
    .
  • And finally today — It’s time to RAISE THE ROOF!! There are some GREAT times to be had after school here at WMS — you just need to know where the “party” is. So come along with Student-reporters Natalie S. and Kiersten B. — and Let’s Go Clubbing!
    .
  • That’s all for now, but stay tuned for a special presentation of CNN 10 on WOLF-TV!!
