  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  On your marks, get set, GO! The WMS Track & Field Team kicks off its season with a meet against Gunston Middle School — TODAY at 3 p.m. on the WMS athletic fields.  So let’s come on out, root them on to victory, and be a Part of the Pride!!
    .
  • A penny saved is a patient saved!  The WMS Check-In Program is launching a big fundraiser today —  Pennies for Patients.  This national campaign benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which is working to find a cure for blood cancer. Pennies for Patients will run for the next 3-weeks, with the goal of raising 3,600-dollars.  And here’s a little extra motivation for you:  whichever TA collects the most money will get a free pizza and ice cream party!!  See Ms. Kia with any questions, and contribute to Pennies for Patients TODAY!
    .
  • The Check-In Program will ALSO be hosting a “Candy & Bake Sale” — this FRIDAY after school by the cafeteria.  All money raised will be added to the Pennies for Patients fundraiser and its goal to cure cancer.  So be sure to come by, get a sweet treat, and support Pennies for Patients!
    .
  • Want to make some music? The WMS Symphony Club will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 and 2 in room C105. This “melodious” group is composed of band, orchestra, and chorus members — and it’s open to EVERYONE with a love of music. So check it out! See Ms. Tuttle with any questions.
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
    .
  • And now for a Technology Tip from Ms. Solomon! The SOLs are just weeks away — and all students MUST download the TestNav app for their iPads as soon as possible. Just go to the app store and search TESTNAV — and you’ll have it installed in seconds. If you have any issues, please submit a “help request form” online, or ask one of your computer savvy friends for help!
    .
  • Finally today, it’s National Library Week.  And today we’ve got a pair a special guests here at the WOLF-TV studio.  Please welcome our very own school librarians:  Ms. Lord and Ms. Tan!!
    .
  • LORD:  Hello, Wolves!  I’m Ms. Lord.
    .
TAN:  And I’m Ms. Tan.  And in honor of National Library Week, we’re here to tell you about a special competition we’re hosting at the Library this week.
    .
LORD:  It’s a Trivia Competition — which will test your knowledge about the WMS Library, award-winning authors, and best-selling books.
    .
TAN:  If you’re one of the first 10-people to submit the correct answer, you’ll win a prize!  We’ll announce the winners every day, and you can claim your prize at the Library.
    .
LORD:  So let’s get to today’s Trivia questions! Number one — How many library computers can print? And number two — Does the library have a color printer?
    .
TAN:  To submit your answers, just go to the LIBRARY section of the WMS website and click “Research Links.”  Or, follow the link in today’s Morning Announcements Blog.
    .
    LORD:  Good luck, wolves!!
