  • Calling all Math Lovers! Math Counts will meet TODAY during lunch and after school. The lunch meetings are: 6th grade in room 203, 7th grade in room 134, and 8th grade in room WW3. The after school meeting will be in WW4 for all students. You can “count” on it!
  • The Leo Club field trip to the Arlington Animal Shelter is TODAY! Participants are reminded to turn-in your permission slips to the Main Office this morning. Then this afternoon, students should meet by the WMS library right after school to get your club T-shirts. The “car caravan” will be leaving promptly at 2:35. Go Leo!!
  • The Model UN Club will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room 202. Participants be preparing for the upcoming TECHMUN conference. Please see Mrs. Carlson with any questions.
  • And speaking of the Model UN — The MUNners pizza fundraiser is this FRIDAY after school in the main lobby and by the cafeteria. Pizza and cookies will be on sale for just 2-dollars! All money raised will go towards Model UN events and conferences. Get it while it’s hot!
  • The Anime Club will NOT be meeting after-school today, but has been rescheduled for next MONDAY. See Mr. Baker with any questions.
  • Need help with Spanish? The Yorktown Spanish Honor Society is offering FREE tutoring next TUESDAY during ASP 2 in room WW 5. Get extra help with grammar and vocab — and everything you need to succeed. Just sign up with your Spanish teacher to attend, or see Senora Stewart with any questions. Hasta pronto!
  • Hey 8th graders – the annual end of the year trip to Kings Dominion is just around the corner! The permission slip and money are due on Tuesday, March 28 – no exceptions. Be sure to return your permission slip and money to the following teachers – Cavaliers – Ms. Murphy – Hokies – Mr. Treble – Rams – Mr. Klink or Patriots – Mr. McDermott.
  • Calling all film-makers and video-jockeys! The Arlington Student FilmFest is now accepting entries for its 2017 competition. To submit your video and application, just follow the link on the WOLF-TV section of the WMS website. The deadline is April 3rd. Entries will be aired at the festival on June 10th.  Now go make some movie magic!
  • The WMS March Madness “Tournament of Books” rolls on this week — with the “Elite Eight.”  Just scan the QR codes by the cafeteria or go to the WOLF-TV section on the WMS website to make your picks. Get your Elite Eight picks in by TOMORROW, and may the best book win!!
