  • The Writing SOLs are over!  Congratulations to all of our 8th grade Cavaliers, Hokies, Patriots, and Rams for successfully completing your first round of standardized tests.  And a special thank you to all the teachers and staff for your patience, flexibility and support during this process.
  • The bell and classroom schedule will return to normal today — but with one exception:  due to make-up testing in the library, the library will be CLOSED to students until further notice. The next round of SOLs don’t begin until MAY — so enjoy it while you can, wolves!
  • The Model UN Club will be meeting on THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202. Participants be preparing for the upcoming TECHMUN conference. Please see Mrs. Carlson with any questions.
  • And speaking of the Model UN — The MUNners pizza fundraiser is back! This FRIDAY after school in the main lobby and by the cafeteria — pizza and cookies will be on sale for just 2-dollars! All money raised will go towards Model UN events and conferences. Get it while it’s hot!
  • Calling all Math Lovers!  Math Counts will be meeting TOMORROW during all grade-level lunches and after school.  See Ms. Janney with any questions.  You can “count” on it!
  • The Leo Club will be taking a field trip TOMORROW during ASP 1 and 2 to the Arlington Animal Shelter. Permission slips are available in the main office, and must be completed and returned by TOMORROW MORNING. Go LEOS !!
  • Hey 8th graders!! It’s time to start planning for the annual End-of-the-Year field trip to Kings Dominion!! Permission slips and money are due by TUESDAY, March 28th — NO EXCEPTIONS.  Cavaliers to Ms. Murphy; Hokies to Mr. Treble; Rams to Mr. Klink, and Patriots to Mr. McDermott. Questions or concerns?  Go see your World Geo teacher, or grade-level counselor.  See you at the park!!
  • Calling all film-makers and video-jockeys! The Arlington Student FilmFest is now accepting entries for its 2017 competition. To submit your video and application, just follow the link on the WOLF-TV section of the WMS website. The deadline is April 3rd. Entries will be aired at the festival on June 10th — where you could win medals, certificates, prizes, and even scholarships!  Now go make some movie magic!
  • The WMS March Madness “Tournament of Books” rolls on this week — with the “Elite Eight.”  Just scan the QR codes by the cafeteria or go to the WOLF-TV section on the WMS website to make your picks. Get your Elite Eight picks in by this FRIDAY, and may the best book win!!
