- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Calling all MUNNERS! The Model UN Club will meet TODAY during ASP I in room C105. Participants will be reviewing last week’s conference, and can get permission slips for the upcoming conference at TJ. All are welcome! See Mr. McDermott with any questions.
. - This is a reminder for all students who were interviewed last week about your rescued pet — please send Mr. Schonfeld a picture of your “furry friend” before the end-of-the-week. And when you do, you’ll get TWO Wolf Paws! Once again, if you were interviewed about your rescued pet, send Mr. Schonfeld a picture ASAP.
. - Up next, we need to talk about LOCKERS! Before you leave for Spring Break, please make sure that there is NO FOOD left in your locker. We don’t want to get BUGS! And if you’ve decorated a friend’s locker, those decorations MUST be removed by Friday. Thanks for your help, and for respecting our shared environment, Wolves!!
.
- Calling all jokesters, wise-crackers, and class clowns! Do you think you’re funny? Then PROVE IT!! We need MORE STUDENT JOKES for the Morning Announcement’s Joke of the Day! If your TA would like to participate, just ask your TA teacher to sign-up using the GoogleForm in the staff newsletter, or contact Mr. Schonfeld for more information. Let’s see if you can make us laugh, Williamsburg! Ba Boom, Ching!!
. - Ready, set, READ!! We’ve made it to the CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND of the March Madness Tournament of Books! This year’s contenders are “Ground Zero” verses “Scythe.” Both are AMAZING books — but which will be the champion???
.
Here’s how to participate: Just go to the WMS Library Canvas Course and cast your vote by THIS THURSDAY. We’ll announce the winning book on Friday — and the TAs with the winning brackets after Spring Break. Make your vote count! The March Madness Tournament of Books — may the best book win!!
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE! Congratulations to our fantastic music department for doing an AMAZING job at their Assessments this month.
.
The WMS Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Orchestra, and Chorus all earned SUPERIOR ratings for their performances. They worked hard all year long, and made BEAUTIFUL music together. Way to go, musical wolves!!! [clap]
. - And finally, it’s National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week here at APS — which aims to inspire dialogue about drug use and addiction among youth. Today, we need to talk about MARIJUANA!
.
Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug by teens in the United States — with roughly 1 in 7 teenagers admitting to marijuana use in the past 30 days! While marijuana is legal for adults in some states — including here in Virginia — it can have SERIOUS health, psychological, and legal consequences for young people.
.
For more information about drug and alcohol abuse, or if YOU or SOMEONE YOU KNOW needs help, please contact Ms. Chisolm, the WMS Substance Abuse Counselor.
