- It’s “Day 2” of the 8th grade Writing SOLs. Today, it’s the Multiple Choice section. Most students will be testing in their TA classrooms; but there are some exceptions — so be sure to confirm your testing location with your TA teachers.
.
And here are a few more things you should know: all you need to bring is your school-issued iPad. Students will NOT be allowed to bring your backpacks, pens nor pencils, nor ANY other electronic devices during the test. But you may bring a water bottle and a BOOK to read in case you finish early. Once again, only actual books — no e-readers. See your TA teacher with any other questions. Good luck on the SOLs, 8th graders!
. - As for everyone else, today we will be following a “flipped” B-Day schedule. Last period first, first period last. Please check with your TA teachers to make sure you’ve got the corrects books and binders for class. Again, today we will be following a “flipped” B-Day schedule.
. - Attention Munners! The Model UN Club will meet this afternoon in room C105 during ASP1. Participants will discuss their findings from the last conference, choose delegate roles, and prepare position papers for the upcoming conference in April. See Mr. McDermott with any questions.
. - And now for an update on the March Madness Tournament of Books — Graphic Novel Edition! HUNDREDS of students cast their votes in the Sweet-16 last week. And now — we’ve made it to the Elite-8. To see which teams are moving on — and to cast your vote for this round — just go to the WMS Library Canvas Course. The March Madness Tournament of Books — may the best book win!
. - Did you participate in an after school club this year? Then this next announcement is for you! The WMS Yearbook will be taking club pictures this week and next week after school. So be sure to attend your next few scheduled meetings. Once again, the Yearbook will be taking club pictures over the next 2-weeks. See Mr. Schonfeld with any questions.
. - And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Solomon! With the SOLs now underway — and with more coming in the near future — your iPad NEEDS to be working. If you are having any problems with your school-issued iPad — whether it’s password problems, not connecting to the internet, glitching apps, cracked screens, battery life, or ANYTHING else — please submit the online “Student Tech. Help Request” form through the WMS website. Ms. Solomon’s got the solution! So submit today — and get yourself back online.
