- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Attention all students! Starting TODAY — all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will begin their new Wolf Time rotations. So be sure to check with your TA teachers to find out where you’ll be going. Once again, the new Wolf Time rotation begins today!
. - Calling all PET OWNERS!! Did you rescue your pet from an animal shelter? If so, we want to talk to YOU! Just fill out the Google Form located in the Morning Announcements Blog on the WMS website — and a WOLF-TV reporter will contact you soon! We want to hear all about your furry little friend. Fill out the Google Form TODAY!!
. - On your marks, get set, GO!! Tryouts for the WMS Track and Field team begin TODAY on the turf fields during ASP 1 and 2. Our goal is to bring the County Championship back to Williamsburg. So if you like to run, jump, skip, or throw — be sure to sign-up using the QR code outside of the cafeteria. See Coach Treble or Ms. Hogwood with any questions. And good luck!!
. - Give a helping hand to those in need! The Helping Hands club is hosting a FOOD DRIVE to benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center from now through Wednesday. They’re also having a friendly competition: There will be food collection boxes in each grade-level hallway. And whichever grade donates the most items will win a popsicle party during lunch!! Thanks for supporting the Arlington Food Assistance Center, Wolf Pack!!
. - It’s nearly time once again for Parent-Teacher Conferences! Conferences will be held “Arena style” on THURSDAY from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., and on FRIDAY from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Tell your parents that they can meet with ONE or ALL of your classroom teachers. No appointments are necessary, but meetings are limited to 5 minutes each. Parents and teachers together — what could be better than that?!
. - And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Hwang! It’s time to upgrade your iPad! Roughly 100-students still haven’t installed the new operating system — iOS 17.3.1 — to their iPads. The upgrade takes about 30-minutes to complete, so you’ll need to do it AT HOME this weekend. And if you’re having trouble doing it yourself, please tell your TA teacher to submit a tech support ticket. Don’t forget! Upgrade your iPad ASAP!!
. - It’s March Madness! And we’ve got a pair of tournaments underway. First up: Ready, set, READ!! The 8th annual March Madness Tournament of Books has reached the Final-4! This year’s contenders are a mix of old favorites and new titles that are burning up the book charts. Who will be moving on?
.
Here’s how to participate: Just go to the WMS Library Canvas Course and cast your vote. We’ll announce the results next week. And remember: the TA in each grade with the best bracket will win a prize — so make your vote count! The March Madness Tournament of Books — may the best book win!!
. - Up next, it’s the Manie Musicale de Mars — aka the March Madness of Music! Nearly 6-million students from 34-countries are voting on the year’s best songs. And YOU get a vote, too! All students in FRENCH are reminded to cast your vote TODAY for the THIRD matchup in the Sweet-16.
.
And if any non-French students are interested in the tournament, too — just go to room 220 and scan the QR code, or ask Ms. McNeese for more information. Vive la Musique!!
. - And finally, last night marked the beginning of Ramadan — one of the most sacred times in the Muslim calendar. Ramadan lasts for an entire month, and MILLIONS of people all of the world observe it.
.
And now, stay tuned for this special video about Ramadan. Roll Tape!!
