- We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE! The WMS Model UN club competed at the William and Mary Conference this weekend. Participants represented different countries from around the world, and debated some of the biggest problems now facing the global community — including climate change, terrorism, economics and more! The Williamsburg representatives did our school proud, assuming several leadership positions and collaborating on innovative solutions. Way to go, wolves!! [clap]
- Sister Circle will meet TODAY during ASP 1 in room 233. Participants will discuss strategies for EMPOWERMENT in school and in life. See Ms. Pointer with any questions.
- Need help with Spanish? The Yorktown Spanish Honor Society is back — offering FREE tutoring on TUESDAY during ASP 2 in room WW 12. Get extra help with grammar and vocab — and everything you need to succeed. Just sign up with your Spanish teacher to attend, or see Senora Stewart with any questions. Hasta pronto!
- Hey, Cheerleaders — grab your pom poms! There will be cheerleading practice on TUESDAY during ASP 1 in the main Gym. See Ms. Sutphin with any questions.
- If you want to succeed in life — then you need to RISE UP! All middle school boys are invited to the upcoming APS “Color of Leadership Conference — Boys Rising Up!” — on Saturday, March 11th from 8 to 2pm at Kenmore Middle School. This exclusive program includes leadership workshops, a martial arts experience, roundtable discussions, and of course FREE FOOD!! Interested boys MUST register for the event by this THURSDAY. See Ms. Pointer to sign-up, or with any questions. Boys rule!!
- It’s nearly time once again for Parent-Teacher Conferences! Conferences will be held “Arena style” this THURSDAY afternoon from 4:30 – 7:30 PM, and on FRIDAY morning from 7:30 to 11:30 AM. Tell your parents that they can meet with ONE or ALL of your classroom teachers. No appointments are necessary, but meetings are limited to 5 minutes each. Good luck with that, everybody!
- The 2016-2017 WMS yearbook is on sale NOW!! Just get an order form from your TA teacher — or better yet, get yours ONLINE by clicking the “Order Year Book” link on the WMS homepage. Supplies are limited, so get yours before they’re gone. The WMS Yearbook — Don’t miss out on the memories!
- TODAY is your LAST CHANCE to submit an entry to the WMS “Mannequin Challenge!” Here’s what you do: Use your iPad to film a Mannequin Challenge video in your TA, then go to the WOLF-TV link on the WMS website to upload and submit your video. The most creative entry from each grade-level TA will receive WOLF PAWS for everyone — AND will be featured on WOLF-TV!! Submissions MUST be received by the end-of-the-day.
