  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  An original screenplay written by a group of WMS students has been named an Official Selection by the Arlington Winter Screenplay Contest. Congratulations to Margaret L., Audrey O., Olivia R., and Elle S. — whose screenplay, “The Secret Life of Elizabeth Cochran” — will be showcased at the Screenplay Forum next Tuesday at H-B Woodlawn at 6pm.  The event is FREE to the public, so head on over and support our students.  Way to go, screenwriters!!  [clap]
  • WOLF PACK PRIDE continues with the FINAL girls basketball game of the year — at home TODAY against Jefferson Middle School.  And as a special treat — there will be fresh popcorn for sale!  So let’s pack the stands and root them on to victory. Be a Part of the Pride!
  • The WMS cheerleaders are reminded to meet in the gym — RIGHT NOW during TA — to practice for tonight’s game.  Again, all cheerleaders should immediately report to the gym.
  • Need help with Spanish? The Yorktown Spanish Honor Society is back — offering FREE tutoring TODAY during ASP 2 in room WW 11. Get extra help with grammar and vocab — and everything you need to succeed. Just sign up with your Spanish teacher to attend, or see Senora Stewart with any questions. Hasta pronto!
  • Attention MODEL UN Club!  There will be an important working meeting to prepare for the “William and Mary” and “Sidwell” conferences, this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202.  See Ms. Carlson with any questions.
  • Give the gift of a story! WMS is now collecting books to support the Arlington Book Shelf, classroom libraries, and other local charities. Donation boxes are located in the front lobby by the library, and books can be dropped off until FRIDAY. See Ms. Han with any questions.
  • Who wants pizza?!  The WMS “Future Business Leaders of America” will be selling pizza this FRIDAY after school in the main lobby and by the cafeteria.  It’s just 2-dollars per slice, and all money raised will go to support the Arlington Food Assistance Center — which provides groceries to over 2-THOUSAND families in need, every week.  See Ms. Spanos with any questions.
  • There’s still time to submit your entry to the WMS “Mannequin Challenge!”  Here’s what you do:  Use your iPad to film a Mannequin Challenge video in your TA, then go to the WOLF-TV link on the WMS website to upload and submit your video.  The most creative entry from each grade-level TA will receive WOLF PAWS for everyone — AND will be featured on WOLF-TV!! I challenge YOU, Williamsburg, now let’s see what you’ve got!!
  • And finally today — we continue our celebration of Black History Month with a a special poetry reading:  “Hurricane” — by Yona Harvey — read by 8th grader Taylor I.
