  • Mother Nature strikes again! Due to the late start this morning, we will be following an adjusted schedule today. Be sure to check with your TA teacher for class and lunch times. And remember — there will be NO Wolf Time today, so proceed directly to 1st period following the Morning Announcements.
    .
  • Another scheduling change to be aware of:  the Humanities Concert for 8th graders has been RESCHEDULED for next Friday at 8:30.  Again, there will be no 8th grade assembly today.
    .
  • Attention 8th graders — or should we say, rising 9th graders?! Your high school Course Request Forms must be completed and returned to your counselor, Mr. Tuttle, by this FRIDAY at the LATEST. There are a ton of fun, interesting, and challenging classes to choose from at Yorktown. But if you miss the deadline, you may not get the one you want. So stop procrastinating, and turn-in your CRF!! See Mr. Tuttle with any questions.
    .
  • And speaking of High School — Arlington Tech will be hosting an “Ice Cream Social and Academic Planning Night” for this year’s applicants on THURSDAY evening — 6:30 to 7:30 at the Career Center.  Prospective students and their families are invited to tour the school, have a Q and A with current Tech students and teachers, and learn about scheduling options.  So come by, have an ice cream, and start planning for your future at Arlington Tech!  See Mr. Tuttle with any questions.
    .
  • Everybody in the pool!  The WMS swim team is hosting an informational meeting this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in the cafeteria. Interested athletes are encouraged to stop by and learn all about the upcoming season.  See Ms. Hogwood with any questions, or if you’re unable to attend.
    .
  • Sister Circle will be meeting on THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 233. Members and allies are encouraged to come out for a little Girl Talk — and a lot of fun activities! There will be a special guest speaker this week — and PIZZA! — so don’t be late.  See Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • “All the world’s a stage!”  The WMS Drama Department will be posting the Cast List for the Spring Musical on THURSDAY outside of room 228.  And then, the entire cast is invited to the show’s first “read through” on THURSDAY afternoon, during ASP 1 on the Main Stage.  Don’t miss it!  See Mr. Brown with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all MUNers!  The WMS Model UN Club will be meeting this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202.  Participants are reminded to bring their completed Spring Conference Commitment Forms, or if you need a new one — get it ASAP!  See Ms. Carlson with any questions.
    .
  • Hey, animal lovers!  Did you know that 6 to 8 million pets are abandoned in America each year? This is a real problem. Check out the banner in the Main Lobby for information and statistics about all the pets left behind — and maybe YOU can do something to help.  Don’t FORGET about your PET!
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS boys Basketball Team just keeps on rolling along — scoring a dominant win over Gunston Middle School on the road yesterday — 46 to 28.  This was a true TEAM WIN, and featured some of the best all-around defense this season — forcing an incredible 15 turnovers in the game.  Way to go, baller Wolves!! [clap].
    .
The next matchup is scheduled for TOMORROW at 3:15 against Swanson Middle School on our home court. So pack the stands, root them on to victory, and Be a Part of the Pride!!
