- Calling all 7th graders!! Last week your English teachers gave you an additional Grade 8 English Course Request form for the new English 8/Storytelling class. This form is due TODAY. If you do not turn in the form, you will be automatically signed up for the English 8/Our Place in the World class. See your English teacher or school counselor with any questions.
. - Here’s an important reminder for all students interested in participating with the WMS Book Club — permission slips MUST be completed and returned by TOMORROW. Once again, if you’d like to receive the new book for the WMS Book Club tomorrow at lunch, you will need a permission slip. See Ms. Cameron or Ms. Edme with any questions.
. - Hey, 7th grade — How would YOU like to be on the Yearbook Staff next year? The WMS Yearbook is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year. This select group of students meet during TA and Wolf Time all year long — taking pictures, learning graphic design, and creating a keepsake for the ages. And while it’s NOT a class for a grade, it’s still a highly rewarding club and resume booster. Just swing by room 137 this week for more information and to get an application from Ms. Kontos. The WMS Yearbook — Be a Part of the Pride!!

- Finally today, please stay tuned for an important announcement from Mr. Schonfeld — who joins us now in the news room.
. - SCHONFELD: Hello, everyone. My name is Mr. Schonfeld. I’m the journalism teacher here at Williamsburg, and I supervise the daily Morning Announcements on WOLF-TV.
.
In journalism, we strive to provide the best and most accurate information available to us. But sometimes, we make mistakes. And when that happens, it is our responsibility to make it right.
.
Yesterday, we broadcast a Joke of the Day that does NOT reflect the values of our community here at WMS. We SHOULD have recognized it earlier, and it should NEVER have been aired.
.
But unfortunately – it did, and I take complete responsibility. I can only offer you my sincerest apology. If you were upset or offended, I — and all of us here at WOLF-TV – am sorry. Please know that we are taking steps to better safeguard against these mistakes in the future.
.
And I’d also like to thank EVERYONE who spoke up after the broadcast. Our community is made better by people like you, who speak up when something is wrong. I hope that you will continue to hold us accountable.
.
Until next time, thanks for tuning-in, Williamsburg.
