  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • Hey 7th graders — 8th grade is calling! Course Request Forms must be signed, completed, and turned-in TODAY.  And if they’re not ready — or if you have any other questions or problems — be sure to see your counselor as soon as possible.  Again, 7th graders — your CRFs for the 8th grade are due TODAY.

  • Today is your LAST CHANCE to vote on your POP CULTURE favorites for the 2020 yearbook — including singers, movies, video games, and more! Students AND teachers are encouraged to go to the Morning Announcements Blog RIGHT NOW, click the link to the Pop Culture Survey, then cast your vote!  The results will be published in the yearbook this June!
  • It’s time to hit that diving board and make a SPLASH!  The WMS Dive Team is recruiting divers for the new season — which  begins next TUESDAY after school — and all you need is a towel, a swim cap, and nerves of steel!  Interested athletes should see Ms. Hogwood this week during your grade-level lunch for more information. Good luck, divers!

  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Wielechoski in the office with any questions.

  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WMS wrestling team took on Gunston Middle School yesterday in their final regular season match of the year — and they came ready to play!  The wolves took the match by a score of 55 to 30.  Props to 7th grader Colby C. and 8th grader TJ W. — who both got their first wins on the season — and to the whole team for fighting hard from start to finish..  Way to go, wrestling wolves!! [clap]  So the wrestling season may be over — but there’s one more BIG match to go.  Next Thursday is the Championship County Meet at Jefferson Middle School — where our wrestlers will be battling for the title of best in Arlington.  So let’s root them on to victory and be a part of the PRIDE!!

  • And finally today — Join the fight for women’s rights! A big “thank you” to all the students and staff who wore PURPLE and WHITE today in celebration of the 19th Amendment’s upcoming 100 year anniversary.  Be sure to visit the judges at your grade-level lunch this afternoon — because whoever’s got the most “suffragette spirit” will win some cool prizes! And never forget — girls rule the world!!
