  • Attention all 8th graders — high school is calling! Course Request Forms are due this FRIDAY at the latest. Be sure to look carefully at all of the courses for any special instructions — as some core and elective classes require additional applications and letters of recommendation. See you 8th grade counselor if you have any additional questions — or if you need a new copy of your CRF.

  • Did you get Crushed? The WMS SCA will be distributing cans of Crush to all recipients TODAY and TOMORROW right after school in the main lobby by the library.  TA teachers will be informing everyone this morning whether or not they’ve been crushed.  And if you have, you can find out your admirer’s name for just 1-dollar during your grade level lunch — that is, unless they’ve been insured and will remain anonymous.  So once again, find out this morning if you got crushed — then pick it up TODAY or TOMORROW after school in the main lobby.

  • And don’t forget about the WMS Kindness Club’s “Have a Heart Campaign” — for all of our furry friends in need. Students and staff are encouraged to donate used towels and blankets that will go to support local animal shelters — and the hundreds of homeless pets they’re trying to get adopted. Donations are being collected in the bin outside of the library, from now until February 22nd. Have a heart and donate TODAY!

  • In recognition of Black History Month — Williamsburg will be hosting its annual “African-American Read-in” TOMORROW for all students during TA. TA teachers will be leading their classes in a range of activities, including poetry and literature, videos, discussions, and more.  It’s the “African-American Read-In” — because Black History is AMERICAN history!

  • And now for a special opportunity for all you book-lovers out there!  The WMS Book Club has selected its next featured title:  “Dear Martin” by New York Times best-selling author:  Nic Stone.  Interested “readers” are encouraged to attend — TODAY during all grade-level lunches in room 110.  So just grab your lunch and head over for a good read!  See Ms. Cameron or Ms. Edme with any questions.
    .
  • The WMS Jazz Band Club will be hosting its next “Jam Session” TODAY during ASP 1 in the Band Hall. All instruments are welcome! For more information, go to the Jazz Club page on the WMS website or contact the band leader, Mr. Wilkin. You’ll have a swingin’ good time!
    .
  • The WMS Kindness Club will be holding an important meeting next TUESDAY during ASP 1 in room 201.  All members — past and present — are STRONGLY encouraged to attend — because you’ll be getting your club picture taken for the yearbook!  Plus there’s more work to do on the Kindness Tree, and numerous events to plan for March.  See Ms. Schaefer, Ms. Zeller, or Mr. Johnson with any questions.

  • “I’m so glad I didn’t buy a yearbook” — Said no one EVER! The deadline to buy your 2018-2019 WMS Yearbook is next FRIDAY — February 22nd. That means you’ve got less than two weeks before they’re all gone. Yearbooks cost 40-dollars — or for 55-dollars you can get the exclusive “Signature Package.” Just go the WMS Website to place your order TODAY — or stop by room 137 and ask Ms. Kontos and the yearbook staff for more information. The WMS Yearbook — Don’t miss out on the memories!
