  • The sun is finally shining — and there’s no snow in sight.  But we’re getting out early today, anyway!!  Today is an EARLY RELEASE DAY at WMS so we’ll be following a shortened schedule — ending at 11:54 this afternoon. Be advised there is NO Wolf Time this morning — so students should proceed directly to 1st period following the Morning Announcements. Be sure to check with your TA teacher for your class schedule and lunch times. Hooray for the short day!!
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WMS girls Basketball team won a nail-biter against Gunston on the home court yesterday — 26 to 24.  Six different players contributed to the scoring — and they made every point count.  But the big story was the incredible defense — led by 8th graders Mia S. with 7 rebounds and Raleigh B. with 6 steals. That’s how you do it!  Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]

  • Attention all 8th graders — high school is calling! Course Request Forms are due this FRIDAY at the latest. Be sure to look carefully at all of the courses for any special instructions — as some core and elective classes require additional applications and letters of recommendation. See you 8th grade counselor if you have any additional questions — or if you need a new copy of your CRF.
    .
  • And speaking of high school classes — the YHS Theater and Music departments are recruiting upcoming 9th graders for next year.  These performance-based elective classes give students the chance to learn new skills, make new friends, and even embark on new careers.  Theatre Arts offers classes for both ONSTAGE and BACKSTAGE; while Music has classes in Music Theory and Guitar.  For more information, contact Ms. Cadby for theater or Mr. Bersch for music, both at Yorktown.
    .
  • Did you get Crushed? The WMS SCA will be delivering cans of Crush to all recipients TOMORROW — Valentine’s Day — during TA.  And if you’d like to know who’s Crushin’ on you — you can find out for just 1-dollar during your grade-level lunch on Thursday.  But be warned: some cans have been insured, and you may never know the identity of your “secret crush.”
    .
  • And don’t forget about the WMS Kindness Club’s “Have a Heart Campaign” — for all of our furry friends in need. Students and staff are encouraged to donate used towels and blankets that will go to support local animal shelters — and the hundreds of homeless pets they’re trying to get adopted. Donations are being collected in the bin outside of the library, from now until February 22nd. Have a heart and donate TODAY!
    .
  • “I’m so glad I didn’t buy a yearbook” — Said no one EVER! The deadline to buy your 2018-2019 WMS Yearbook is next FRIDAY — February 22nd. That means you’ve got less than two weeks before they’re all gone. Yearbooks cost 40-dollars — or for 55-dollars you can get the exclusive “Signature Package.” Just go the WMS Website to place your order TODAY — or stop by room 137 and ask Ms. Kontos and the yearbook staff for more information. The WMS Yearbook — Don’t miss out on the memories!
