- Attention all 8th graders — high school is calling! Course Request Forms are due this FRIDAY at the latest. Be sure to look carefully at all of the courses for any special instructions — as some core and elective classes require additional applications and letters of recommendation. See you 8th grade counselor if you have any additional questions — or if you need a new copy of your CRF.
. - And speaking of high school classes — the YHS Theater and Music departments are recruiting upcoming 9th graders for next year. These performance-based elective classes give students the chance to learn new skills, make new friends, and even embark on new careers. Theatre Arts offers classes for both ONSTAGE and BACKSTAGE; while Music has classes in Music Theory and Guitar. For more information, contact Ms. Cadby for theater or Mr. Bersch for music, both at Yorktown.
. - TODAY is your LAST CHANCE to buy a Crush for your Crush — or special someone! Just go to the SCA table at your grade-level lunch: it’s 1-dollar for a can — or 2-dollars to keep it ANONYMOUS. Recipients will get their Crush on Thursday during TA — which also happens to be Valentine’s Day. Once again — get your Crush for a Crush TODAY!
. - Read any good books lately? The “Talk about Books” Club” — a.k.a. TAB — will be meeting TODAY during all grade level lunches in the library. So grab your grub and come take a look at these Totally Awesome Books!!

- The online survey about “Student iPad Use” is still accepting submissions. All students in all grade-levels are asked to PLEASE fill-out the survey in TA this week — unless you’ve already done so. The whole thing takes less than 2-minutes to complete. To access the survey, just go to the Morning Announcement Blog on the WMS website and CLICK on the provided link — or ask your TA teacher for more information. Again, please complete the online survey as soon as possible.
