  • Once again, the wild winter weather has resulted in a delayed opening — so we will be running on a modified schedule today. Be sure to check with your TA teachers for class and lunch times. And remember — there is NO Wolf Time today, so please proceed directly to your 1st period class following the Morning Announcements. And you may want to check the forecast for tonight, too — there could be more wintery weather on the way!

  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WOLFBOTS VEX robotics teams competed in the League Championships at Northern Virginia Community College on Saturday — and our WolfBots ROCKED!  Congratulations to the team of Silas R., Jackson D., Sheel S. and Ojas C. for winning the Judges Award for competing through adversity.  They completely re-designed and re-programmed their robot in the last days before the competition — and that’s no small feat. Way to go, WolfBots!!  [clap]

  • Attention all 8th graders — high school is calling!  Course Request Forms are due this FRIDAY at the latest. Be sure to look carefully at all of the courses for any special instructions — as some core and elective classes require additional applications and letters of recommendation.  If you’ve lost your CRF or have any additional questions, please see your counselor as soon as possible.
    .
  • And speaking of high school classes — are you ready to be a STAR?!? The Yorktown Theatre Arts Department offers a range of electives — for both ONSTAGE and OFFSTAGE.  From theater games and performing in a show  — to set design, costumes, lighting and sound — you can learn everything there is about the theater! Just contact Ms. Cadby at YHS for more info — and check out this video for a sneak peak!
  • The Technology Student Association — also known as the TSA — will NOT be meeting today. The next meeting will be in two weeks – Feb 25th. See Mr. Dudek for more information.
    .
  • And now for a reminder about a pair of fundraisers here at WMS.  First, it’s “Crush for your Crush” — brought to you by the WMS SCA. For just 2-dollars, you can send an anonymous can of Crush soda to your “Crush” — or special someone. Recipients will get their Crush this Thursday — on Valentine’s Day!  For more information and to buy your Crush — just come to the SCA table TODAY or TOMORROW during your grade-level lunch. See Mr. Tagert or Mr. Peacock with any questions.
    .
  • And the WMS Kindness Club is also holding its “Have a Heart Campaign” this month — for all of our furry friends in need. Students and staff are encouraged to donate used towels and blankets that will go to support local animal shelters — and the hundreds of homeless pets they’re trying to get adopted. Donations are being collected in the bin outside of the library, from now until February 22nd. Have a heart and donate TODAY!
    .
  • “I’m so glad I didn’t buy a yearbook” — Said no one EVER! The deadline to buy your 2018-2019 WMS Yearbook is just two week away — February 22nd. So get yours before they’re all gone. Yearbooks cost 40-dollars — or for 55-dollars you can get the exclusive “Signature Package.” Just go the WMS Website to place your order TODAY — or stop by room 137 and ask Ms. Kontos and the yearbook staff for more information. The WMS Yearbook — Don’t miss out on the memories!
