  • Get ready for a BOOK BONANZA! The WMS Academic Book Fair is OPEN FOR BUSINESS — starting TODAY and going until December 12th in the library. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will all have a chance to visit with their English classes — but everyone is welcome to stop by  any day of the week — either before school or during your lunch period.
    .
Plus, the fair will also be open late-night this THURSDAY and next TUESDAY to coincide with the Winter Concerts. So don’t forget to bring your money — and go get yourself a good book!
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WMS Girls Soccer team played a tough game in the cold weather yesterday — securing a TIE against Swanson Middle School — zero to zero.  But the “non-loss” was enough to keep their UNDEFEATED SEASON in tact.
    .
Big props to 7th grade goalie Julia L. on the shutout — nothing could get by her — and the entire defensive line.  Way to go, soccer wolves!! [clap]. Girls soccer will be playing its final game of the year TODAY against Gunston — after school on the home field.  So bundle up, let’s root them on to victory, and BE A PART OF THE PRIDE!!
    .
  • It’s better to GIVE than to RECEIVE! The “Fill the Cruiser — Holiday Toy Drive” is now accepting donations, sponsored by the WMS Kindness Club and the Arlington Police Department. NEW and UNWRAPPED gifts may be dropped-off in the grade-level bins in the library between now and December 14th. And everything that’s collected will be given to local children in need this holiday season.
    .
And whichever grade donates the most will be entered into a raffle to receive a special token of gratitude. So PLEASE, bring in a gift — or three — and help to make a HUGE difference for the children of Arlington! Spread kindness where you may, and donate to the Toy Drive TODAY!!

  • Attention MUNners!! Help is needed to prepare for the upcoming WOLFMUN Conference — this FRIDAY during ASP 1. And on THURSDAY — there will be an important meeting for conference participants and Chairs. See Mr. Carlson for more information, or with any questions.
    .
  • Sister Circle will be holding its morning meeting this FRIDAY at 8 a.m. in room ___.  All young women are welcome — new members and old, friends and allies. So come out for a little Girl Talk — and a lot of fun activities! See Ms. Mays with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all actors, singers, and technicians! Auditions for the WMS Spring Musical — Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland, Jr.” — will take place in the auditorium on THURSDAY, December 13th during ASP 1 and 2; and again on MONDAY, December 17th during ASP 1 only. Interested performers should prepare three things — the song “Happy Birthday”, a short nursery rhyme, and another song of YOUR CHOICE that highlights YOUR VOICE. See Mr. Brown with any questions. Break a leg!
    .
  • And finally today — DC is a MAJOR sports town! And to help you keep up on all the exciting action, student-reporters Wil T. and Taha O. are ready to report from the sidelines. Go get it!!
    .

TAHA:  Hey, sports fans — it’s me, Taha, back with a BREAKING NEWS sports update.  The Redskins rough season just got a little bit rougher.  Backup QB Colt McCoy BROKE HIS LEG on Monday night — and the quest for the playoffs just got a whole lot harder. Cross your fingers, ‘Skins fans!
