  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Model UN Club gave a stand-out performance at GW MUN this weekend.  EIGHT students were recognized, including Best Delegate Awards for 7th graders Alison K. and Amelia L., and an Outstanding Delegate Award for Evan B.  Way to go, MUNner Wolves!! [clap]  The next Model UN meeting will be this THURSDAY in room 202 during ASP 1.  Be there for the FUN MUN activity!

  • The good news continues with the Williamsburg art program.  An incredible 23 WMS students have been selected to display their projects at the annual Middle School Art Exhibit — currently underway at the Education Center Gallery. The exhibit features some of the best young artists in all of APS.  Way to go, artistic wolves!! [clap]. For more information about the art exhibit, see Mr. Skrzypek.
    .
  • And our final piece of Wolf Pack Pride comes from the 8th grade Wolfpack Robotics team — who put on an amazing performance at the Virginia State Championships this weekend. The WOLFBOTS were ranked 21st in the state out of 500 teams, but it gets even better.  Williamsburg won FIRST PLACE in the entire state in “Innovative Solutions” for the Engineering Theme of Hydrodynamics.
    .
And now as a special treat, let’s bring the entire WOLFBOTS ROBOTICS team out here — and get a look at that trophy!!  [pause]  Take a bow, WOLBOTS, you guys rocked the robots!! [clap].

  • And now, back to the news.  Brush your hair and smile for camera, because today is “Picture Make-Up Day!” But the procedure is a little different this morning, so LISTEN UP!  Pictures will be taken IN FRONT OF THE AUDITORIUM, and students will be called by grade level over the PA.  Do NOT go to the picture area until your grade is called.  Also, be sure to bring either your “Retake Form” or unwanted picture packet with you.  Say cheese!
    .
  • The “Boys Cohort” will be holding its first meeting of the year — TODAY during ASP 1 in room 233.  Boys Cohort is an opportunity for Black and Latino students to meet new people, and learn how to be a LEADER in the community.  Allies are welcome, too!  See Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • Need help with Spanish? The Yorktown tutors are back! Come to Room WW12 — TODAY during ASP II and get extra help with grammar, vocab, and everything you need to succeed. Just sign up with your Spanish teacher to attend, or see Senora Stewart with any questions. Hasta pronto!
    .
  • The WMS Kindness Club will be meeting TODAY in room 134 during ASP 1.  As always, participants will be developing new ways to spread KINDNESS throughout the school and community.  All are welcome!
    .
  • Look our world — here we come!  The Future Business Leaders of America — or FBLA — will be meeting this FRIDAY during WOLF TIME in room 136.  This project-based club focuses on Community Service, Leadership, and preparing for a successful career in business. See Mrs. Kontos or Mrs. Briones for more information —  and to get your agenda signed.
