  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  Spirit Week wraps up today with everyone’s favorite theme:  PAJAMA DAY!    Thanks to all the students and staff who got into the “school spirit” and dressed the part — you all look so comfy-cozy in your jammies and slippers, and I even saw a few “Loveys” and stuffed animals out there in the halls!
    .
We’ve had a good time all week, with Sports Teams, Hats, Tacky Sweaters, and now Pajamas.  But remember, School Spirit isn’t just about ONE WEEK.  It’s about EVERY DAY — being part of a supportive community — and taking pride in everything we do.  Spirit Week at WMS — Be a Part of the Pride!!

  • It’s better to GIVE than to RECEIVE — and WOW do you Wolves like to give like crazy!  The WMS Kindness Club’s “Fill the Cruiser – Holiday Toy Drive” was a sensational success this month.  In total, our students and staff donated more than 150 toys, which will be given to APS families in need this holiday season. In fact, there were so many toys that a portion were donated to “Cole’s Closet” — an organization that provides birthday presents to kids in the hospital.  Give yourselves a hand, Wolves — you made a LOT of kids very happy this holiday season. [clap]
    .
And one last thing about the toy drive.  There was also a “friendly” competition between grades to see who would donate the most toys this year.  And after counting the grade-level donation bins, we have our winner.  Congratulations to:  the 6th grade!  You are officially the most GENEROUS grade in school.  With the win, the 6th grade is now 2-for-2 in charity drives, as they also received the most points in this year’s Pennies for Puerto Rico fundraiser!  Thanks to everyone for participating, and GO WOLVES!!
    .
  • Attention Model UN Club!  The list of delegates for the upcoming William and Mary Conference is now posted outside of room 202.  Be sure to stop by and confirm your participation.  Also, all MUNners who signed up for the Gar-field Conference should see Ms. Carlson before the end-of-the-day to get your assignment.
    .
  • Takedown, reversal, PIN!  The WMS wrestling team is set to begin its season on TUESDAY, January 2nd — the day we return from Winter Break.  Wrestlers should be prepared to “throw down” on the very first day — just be sure to have your physicals in.  See Coach Hicks with any questions.
    .
  • It’s all about “trial and error.”  The WMS Science Fair is gearing up for its big competition on SATURDAY, January 6th — that’s the first weekend after Winter Break.  All 7th graders participating in the Fair are reminded that there will be a MANDATORY meeting on WEDNESDAY, January 3rd in room 111 during lunch.  You’ll be receiving important instructions about the event — and a little pep-talk to get you to the finish line.  See Ms. Zarro with any questions.
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a buss pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
    .
  • There was a BIG change to daily class schedule this year — and our LITTLEST students are handling it like pros.  WOLF-TV reporters Zack L. and Christian H. head to the 6th grade hallway — as they get the bottom of Block Scheduling.
  • Something smells GOOD in the kitchen!!  The WMS cafeteria serves up HUNDREDS of breakfasts and lunches everyday — and the food your getting is good for your body and your mind.  WOLF-TV reporters Claudia P., Damla O., Ellie D., and Kiersten B. are cutting the lunch-line to bring us this yummy story.
  • That’s all for 2017!  But be sure to tune back in NEXT YEAR to WOLF-TV for more important news, tips, and information.  Have a great Winter Break, everybody, and Be a Part of the Pride!!
