  • Spirit Week - December CORRECTIONIt’s SPIRIT WEEK here at WMS!  Thanks to all the students and teachers who rolled out of bed this morning and wore their PJs to school today.  You’ve got school spirit — yes you do!!

    Now here’s the rundown for the rest of the week:  Spirit week continues on Tuesday is Switch It Up Day — students dress like teachers, teachers dress like students. On Wednesday, wear your best flowered shirt for Hawaiian Day. Thursday will be a blast-from-the-past with Decade Day. And finally, Friday is our favorite holiday tradition: UGLY SWEATER DAY!! So get into the school spirit, wolves, and BE A PART OF THE PRIDE!!

  • Calling all actors, singers, and technicians! Auditions for the WMS Spring Musical — Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland, Jr.” — are scheduled for TODAY in the auditorium during ASP 1 only. Interested performers should prepare three things — the song “Happy Birthday”, a short nursery rhyme, and another song of YOUR CHOICE that highlights YOUR VOICE. See Mr. Brown with any questions. Break a leg!

  • Calling all members of the WMS Girls Soccer Team!  This is a reminder that your end-of-the-year PARTY is  TODAY after school in room C102.  Be sure to bring your CLEANED uniform to return.  See Mr. Girard with any questions.

  • Take down…  Reversal… PIN!!  The WMS Wrestling Team is gearing up for a new season.  See if you have what it takes to be the best pound for pound wrestler in the school — or even the county! Interested athletes are invited to the informational meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room WW1.  Then PRACTICES will begin following Winter Break.  See Mr. Mencarini with any questions.

  • The WMS Symphony Club will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 and 2 in the Band Room.  All musicians are invited to come by and celebrate our upcoming winter break with some beautiful music! See Ms. Tuttle with any questions.

  • Take the shot!!  The WMS Girls Basketball season is nearly here.  Tryouts are scheduled for the first week back from Winter Break. Interested athletes should sign up on the Activity Board by the cafeteria — and make sure to have a physical on file with Ms. Hogwood. See Ms. Sutphin with any questions.

  • Calling all scientists, technicians, engineers, and mathematicians!!  The Virginia Junior Academy of Science — or VJAS, for short — is gearing up for 2019.  VJAS is a Statewide “STEM” Competition for 7th and 8th graders.  For information about how to participate, please come to the interest meeting this WEDNESDAY during WOLF TIME in the Science Trailer, WW 22.   See Ms. Warden with any questions.

  • It’s the most wonderful time of the year… for you to RETURN YOUR LIBRARY BOOKS!! TA Teachers handed out overdue notices last week. Students are requested to PLEASE bring those books back to the library before you head off for Winter Break. See the school librarians with any questions.
