Today we will be following the “anchor” C-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1 through 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. It’s Spirit Week here at WMS! Thanks to all of the students and staff who showed their WOLF PACK PRIDE for “Candy Cane Day!” — and got decked-out in Red and White. You’ve got spirit, yes you do!!

And here’s the rundown for the rest of the week: Thursday is Baby It’s Cold Outside Day — so wear your coziest hat, scarf or PJs.

And finally, Friday is Ugly Sweater Day — the tackier the better. Spirit Week at WMS — Be a Part of the Wolf Pack Pride!!

There’s a new club at WMS this year — Boys-to-Men — which is committed to building friendships, developing leadership skills, and promoting a “safe space” to discuss issues like race, ethnicity, religion, and LGBTQIA+. Boys-to-Men will be meeting this THURSDAY — and twice-a-month all year long. Check it out — and make a difference in our school and our community. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream — it was a dream about FREEDOM. Students in all grade levels are invited to compete in the “2022 MLK Virtual Literary and Visual Arts Contest.” To participate, please develop a written or artistic interpretation of a Dr. King quote that explores how YOU can take a stand and support a vision of equality throughout our society. The submission deadline is TOMORROW — so get it done ASAP. Go to the WMS website for more information.

Take down… Reversal… PIN!! The WMS Wrestling Team is gearing up for a new season! Interested athletes are invited to the informational meeting this Thursday after school in the cafeteria. See Mr. Mencarini with any questions.

Calling all athletes! Anyone interested in trying out for the upcoming Wresting or Girls Basketball seasons MUST sign-up using the Google Form on the WMS website under each sports’ TAB. Also, your “sports physical” must be submitted by this FRIDAY. The new seasons begin right after Winter Break — so don’t miss out! See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

It’s better to GIVE than to RECEIVE! Today is the last day to donate to the Helping Hands “gift” drive in support of the Virginia Hospital Center Pediatrics Unit — OR to the “gift card” drive for Arlington families in need. A donation bin is located in the main lobby, and gift cards can be left in the main office. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

But wait — there’s MORE! The WMS Orchestra is partnering with Toys for Tots for a Holiday Toy Drive! NEW or GENTLY USED gifts may be dropped-off in the donation bins located outside of the Library and Auditorium from now through THURSDAY. So show your WOLF PACK PRIDE and donate to the Toy Drive TODAY!!

Today is covid testing day! 6th graders will test during 3rd period, 7th graders will test during 5th period, and 8th graders will test during 4th period. Testing starts at 10am! See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The WMS Best Buddies Club had a FANTASTIC fundraiser this month — selling nearly 650 Candy Cane Candy Grams! All money raised will go to support this incredible club, and all of its sensational students. Way to go, best buddies!! [clap]

TA Teachers will be distributing the Candy Grams to their recipients this morning. Enjoy your holiday treat!!

Wolf Pack Pride continues with the Boys Basketball Team. They lost a tough match at home against Gunston yesterday — but played hard to the very last minute. Sam R. and Matt L. Were the leaders on offense, while James D. played great ‘D’. Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]

Boys Basketball wraps up their season TOMORROW afternoon against Kenmore on the home court. So show let’s show our Wolf Pack Pride, pack the stands, and root them on to victory!!
